1. Hi, I am looking to buy a used, cheap flash meter, probably under 100 EUR. Mostly, I find old minoltas III or older, old sekonic (like the 458 from the 1980s), and some other strange types. My question: what flash meter should I look for in the used market, that is not an old model, but may cost less than 100 EUR? Thanks
 2. Hi, Do I understand it correctly, that if I buy 2 sets of RS402, I will be able to control two Mamiya AFD III-s (trigger them both at the same time). Does this work OK in studio env? I mean one camera is triggering the studio flash, and the two cameras are making the picture the same time (since they are triggered together)? Is it possible somehow, that if I have two cameras: one is triggering the studio flash, and the second camera at the same time (so I don't use the remote, rather just take the photo with the first camera, while the 2nd one is taking it at the same time)? Thanks
 3. Hi, I am currently moving from my RZ67 II (ouch) to a more flexible to use camera, the Phase One AF (Mamiya 645 AFD III). I will receive it with a 80mm AF lens. I have been looking for other lenses, and I can see there are lots of pretty good deals for old 645 manual focus lenses. Since I will be mostly using this body in studio (both film and digital backs), I am curious if it is worth to buy these old manual focus lenses. I know some of the pro/cons of this, but what do you think? Do you have any experience with this? Thanks
 4.
After a month, I have all the parts for the Mamiya rz67 set :)
* rz67 pro II body
* 140mm macro lens
* 180mm lens
* 250mm telephoto lens
* 2 rz67 backs
* rz67 winder II
* WLF

So in some weeks I will be making some photos :) (I am currently waiting for the shipment of films from the Ilford dealer in Hungary).

 5.
Hi,

Thanks for the clarification.
I am staying with the Mamiya RB/RZ line.

One question: I understand the cons/pros on RB vs RZ. I was thinking about buying an rz67.
What is your opinion about it? Does it worth it on the long run? So maybe 5 years later I would have the possibility for a digital back.

Thanks

 6.
Stephen: I don't want to spend 1500$ on this whole "project". Current 7d mkII cost me 900GBP as new (less than 1200$ now). My wife would kill me, for a more expensive, analog set.
Scanning: at most of the photo development shops, they do it for free (or max 5$ / roll), with much better equipment, than I could buy as a home user. So it is not a problem.

Lubos: unfortunately, the webpages for those shops are chezh or slovak. I don't speek either of them.

Austria shops: looked through them, didn't really found a useful body. There is like Leica shop in Wien and Foto Koeberl in Graz. They have lots of expansions to Mamiya / Bronica in Graz, but no bodies (but they would be a good service shop).

 7.
OK. Thanks for the comments. Just some replies:
'competitable' not 'compatible', I mean Bronicas make as good pics as Hasselblads, as I have read.

Picture format: as I wrote 6X6 or 6X7.

Rangefinders: as I see it, currently they are much problematic to have serviced compared to simple medium formats (here).

Picture style: mostly using tripod, either landscapes, or some cityscapes.

TLRs: I have looked at them, but I may need more flexibility than those. Also, the available ones are a bit older, than the mentioned modular ones (at least on online buying sites).

Transport and heavyness: not a problem. Also, as someone mentioned, my digit cam, is also heavy, with my tele lens, about 1.7 kg.

Size: I heave big hands, thats why I wasn't happy with my previous canon bodys, they were all smaller than the 7d.

Picture volume: I am not planning to shoot more than like 5 120 rolls a month, top.

 8. 1. I understand what you wrote about scanning the photos, it is ok. 2. Yes, I'm looking for something different. I have my results with the 7d. 3. Used hasselblads are way more pricy 4. Importing: I live in Hungary. Called all my previous used gear resellers,they haven't seen any medium format cam for ages So I have to import it. Best would be from EU (no taxes) but haven't found any good reseller. 5. Yes, I'm ok with regular servicing. It is plannable in costs. But for starters I don't want to spend 1000$/Eur for a set. 6. Yes, as I wrote, I want to enter a different world with medium format cameras. I am looking for a very different experience. What about the mamiyas? As I know they were produced in different versions until 2009 (rz67 pro 2). Also bronicas were produced until 2004 (etrsi version). Kiev cm88s are still refurbished in the US/Kiev.
 9.
Hi all,

I have been doing photography for a while. As a digital camera user, I have a Canon EOS 7D Mark II with a decent lens set (10-18mm EFS, 24mm EFS, 40mm EF, 50mm EF, 18-55mm EFS, 35-135mm EF, 70-200mm EF/L, 50mm m42, 135mm m42). Also, I do myself the afterworks (lightroom).
Recently I have discovered medium format photo, especially analog. So I was thinking that besides my awesome fast camera, I need something much slower, but without the need for afterworks. So I have ended up looking at medium format photography.
As medium format, I think one big value would be the modularity. So I am interested in buying a "cheap" modular system (as a kit: body, 1 lens, finder, 1 or 2 film backs). Especially 6x6 or 6x7 versions.
Looking over the available options, I have found the following:
1. Kiev 88 series: only CM MLU ones (Pentax six mount). But compared to base kiev 88, CM versions tend to be more expensive. Arax and Hartblei fixes are necessary, since the original Kiev 88 wasn't so reliable. But these versions start from 500$ (simple Kiev 88 may cost about 200$).
2. Bronica: there are different versions, different 6x6 sets. I have read they perform very well, and are very reliable. Mostly, I can get used sets from Japan, starting at 250$ with postage up to about 700$. But I would have to pay import charges (27% VAT and 4.2% duty). So it would be 330$ - 920$ based on the different versions.

3. Mamiya: RB67 or RZ67. I actually very much like the folding system of this series. However I don't really know the difference between RB67 and RZ67 (RZ67 tends to be more expensive). RB67 versions are about the same as the bronicas, from Japan again. RZ67 starts from 500$ to 1500$ from Japan, again.

I don't really know which one to go for. I have used some old russian 35mm equipment, so thats why I would choose Kiev 88.
Based on searching through the internet, the Bronica seems to be more competitable (or better) with Hasselblads. And the Mamiyas, as I wrote, the folding versions are so nice looking to me.

Please help me, which one to choose? I would like to spend as much, as possible, but, with considering the fact, that I will buy modifications, lenses, backs later. So lets say, the Bronica would be 350$ now, and buying to additional lens + 2 film backs + 1 finder may cost me 350$ more, but if I go with Mamiya RB67, the starter would be 400$, but additions as 200$. Or the Kiev 88 CM MLU bigger set would be 700$ (with all this).
Please help me with your experience. Which one performs better? Which one to buy?

Thank You!
