  1. Ouch (well, you asked.) It looks like you're trying too hard to get some sort of effect, not certain what. The mismatch between the reflection of the sky and the sky itself doesn't look surreal, it just looks fake. Sorry.

    Yellow Beetle

Looks like a cucumber beetle from here. Definitely not a bug.

What is the structure in the hotspot just to the right of the beetle? How is it so well-defined?

  2. Given the water quality, I'm not sure you'd have done much better with a bigger flash (backscatter seems to have reduced the contrast as it is). But I am impressed: I've heard Cyanea can reach 8' in diameter and 100' in length. How big was this one, and how close were you with that 15mm lens, anyway? Nice shot of a not exactly harmless critter.
  3. Composition is good, very geometrical. Could've used a little more shadow detail (more exposure comp.), and a smaller aperture to get the left side wall in focus. No star filter, please.
  4. Obviously a beautiful place, and could be a lovely photo -- but it's hard to tell. It's more like an object lesson in why you want to scan the film, not the print. Presumably the original is in focus, and there is detail in both highlights and shadows?
