  1. Looking into what the options are now. Thank you.
  2. I checked your profile, and I see 39 pages of 25 photos which total about 975. I'll check some of the permissions to make sure you have full access to all of the albums they could be in.
  3. PS - I'll do better at sharing out updates once per week!
  4. Hi Everyone, A few updates to share.
The #1 point of feedback and support I’m getting from everyone is “where are my photos.” Which makes sense, since this is a photo site.

They are there, but the way the platform has it set, is that they’re a few clicks deep on your profile. If you go to your profile page, then in the top right corner you'll see "see my activity". From there, left side and in the menu you'll see "Images." Like I said, not an easy user flow to get to your photos. I’m working with Invision (platform) now to surface them on the main profile page, so they’re more easily accessible. NSFW - If you recall, there was not an NSFW tag on any of the photos. That now has changes, but not all the photos have the tags. If you see one that needs the tag, please flag the image with the NSFW reason and we’ll update it. Photo Migration - The photo migration is officially done! 5.3 million photos. Unfortunately there were a little over 8,000 photos that were corrupted and were lost. I have a list of the file names, but not which account they were attached to. That being said, I’m sorry that we lost some photos. Menus - I'm hoping to push live an updated menu bar later this week. Help with navigation around the site. Please keep sending me messages, but I also ask for your patience. Photo.net is about 20% of my working day so I’m responding to as much as possible while also building out the site back to where it was before! If anyone want to help volunteer, I'm happy to train on some tasks and moderation duties. Shout out to @Sandy Vongries for keeping the moderation queue clear!
  5. Suppose it would help if i actually SAVED the changes. Go to your Profile -> Account settings -> Signatures
  6. Flickr link added to personal information profile page.
  7. Updated the setting. You should be able too now.
  8. Naaa. The default settings just hadn't been updated to "unlimited". But that's not a bad idea at all. 🤣
  9. RE: attachments - please try again @Bill Snell, i've updated the settings.
  10. Thank you everyone for your patience! Yes, things are happening and I've been in contact with both the hosting company and with Roger (Creative Live) daily. We have a long list of things we're addressing, building, changing after the migration. There won't be one BIG release update, you'll just notice smaller things getting fixed along the way. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me. I've been able to address most concerns right away. I knew it was going to be a journey, and I'm happy to have everyone's eyes on the site giving me feedback now that we're live.
  11. The goal is that it will be the same as the current platform.
  12. Check in here to make sure there are no outstanding questions. Yes, it's scary and there will 100% be some time (estimate a few days) to where we get back up and going. To start, once we're back online, I've dedicated most all my time to feedback and updates to get the site as close to where it is (functionality) now. I want you to send over to me what is wrong and what you'd like to see. We now have more direct access to fix & update things quickly. As some have mentioned, along with possibly being vulnerable to security updates, the site is not GDPR compliant, signups are broken and payments need updating. Not to mention it needed some TLC for community engagement. This site is currently hosted on an AWS EC2 cluster devoted to the site, running Xenforo software. We are migrating to a platform called "invision community" which is the same platform we use to run Fiverr's user forums. To put it bluntly, the options were: migrate or shut down. I choose migrate.
  13. Times, they are a changing. The day is set for the migration. We will begin on October 3rd. The full migration should take about 2-3 days. What to expect: Photo.net will be inaccessible for the time during the migration. The conversations and uploads will be locked. Once migrated, the expectation is that logins and the forum discussions will work as they do now. Because of the volume of photos, Photo albums will slowly migrate over starting with the most recent. Expectations are it will take 3-4 additional days for ALL the photos. Thank you in advance for your patience while those get brought over. I am making it a point to be extra available after the migration and will be leaving my email address here for any questions, concerns, or issues. After the migration, we will have more direct access to help resolve issues. All links should work as they do now. URL mapping is part of the migration. RE: photo.net premium. Directly after the migration, we will not have a pay gate for the services offered in Premium. These will be built out over the next few weeks. The current focus is on the safe migration of everyone's photos, albums, and portfolios. If you have paid for Premium, you will have a "premium" tag on your account. Things will look and feel different. I appreciate everyone’s flexibility and patience while we update and migrate the site to a new platform. Looking forward to it! Let me know what other questions you have in the thread below. -MJ matt.j@fiverr.com
  14. As for speicifics of what those tiers look like, I want to make sure we have a successful migration to the new platform first, then we start with bells and whistles. :-)
  15. Correct. The idea is that there is an additional "tier" of features and functionality that someone who is paying for PRO would have access to. I say that it's an "additive" group because it adds these things to what an everyday user would have.
  16. As expected, the permissions for "photonet pro" users weren't all on. In the account conversion, they split the user groups into "member" and "photonet pro." In the actual release, the "photonet pro" group will be an additive feature set. But for the purposes of this test, I have just opened it all up to everyone.
  17. Thanks for the feedback. Let me double-check the permission sets for posting. It's possible that in the migration of threads the sets never made it. You are correct, we decided on Invision since it aligned with what we're currently using. We'll have direct access to change, update, and support any questions or issues that arise, as well as have a team that can monitor and help with advanced moderation and admin inquiries. Also, I wasn't able to get budget to use anything else. ;)
  18. For those with login issues - i will create a new password for you and DM you in individually.
  19. Thank you everyone for trying. A lot of what was mentioned as feedback can be attributed to the site not being 100% yet. This was just a "stress test" if you will. Some of the feedback can be fixed with some settings updates (file size issues, etc).
  20. Hi everyone, it's been a while, but I come with a great update. We have an initial design and test site for the migration. I want to open it up to everyone active on this site for their feedback! Please go and check out the site here. We tried to keep the same feel of the current photo.net site, but with a "newish" feel. https://m320846.invisionservice.com/homepage/ You might run into a "site is down" message. Just sign in and you should get through it. Your username and login should be used to log in to your account. Note, if you changed your password after July 21, please contact me and I can help. We have started a thread inside the new site for feedback, please share your thoughts there! https://m320846.invisionservice.com/forum/57-community-feedback/ Keep in mind, that things will be different. The MAIN reason we need to migrate the site is due to technical and backend issues. Things to remember: 1. Not all photos have been migrated yet. This is just a test site and moving over millions of photos for a test site isn't a good use of resources. 2. Most of the discussions have been moved over. The categories and format can and will be be changed. 3. Profiles, please go and upload some new photos and mess around with the albums and profiles and discussions. 4. The top main menu will be updated to look more like the old site. "Explore, Learn, Forums" haven't gotten there yet. Remember, this is still a test site and I want any and all feedback from you about the core ideas of how you'll interact with the site. We have plans to "make it more pretty" in the next few days but want to make sure the core functionality is aligned with expectations. Questions? Hit me up here or on the test site!
  21. This conversation has been great and I've learned a lot from reading your interactions! I haven't forgotten about y'all. Been working behind the scenes to get some mockups together. I haven't loved any of them yet, so we're still working on some ideas. I want to keep the same "feel" of this site in it's current form, but also have a little bit of an upgrade/evolution. Stay tuned, I'll start a new thread when we're ready to show off some designs, and want your feedback!
  22. Oh boy. Thank you, everyone. I had expected to go over everyone's post and reply individually, but this is far more feedback than I expected! Overall, all of the "pain points" seem to revolve around two different topics. 1. Technical issues 2. Community interactions For the technical issues part, those are some of the things that we'll likely try to clean up first. Without a viable login/email/cancelation system, there really is no site. Give me a few days to compile and summarize the feedback and I'll create another post where we can discuss to make sure my understanding is accurate.
  23. Thank you for sharing your feedback. So you know where my head is at: 1. I have found a lot of technical things to be broken. We think that's due to the limitations of the platform and we will likely have to change platforms in order to keep this going. 2. I very much want to keep the spirit and integrity of this forum. While "gamification" works for some things, it can also be detrimental to others. I don't see a need for those types of mechanics on a large scale at all. 3. Part of the conversation has been that this site HAS been around for so long and it deserves a historical landmark plaque. We want to save and preserve it, while growing it and using it as an example of how it can be successful with out being a "social media" site. Not going to lie, moving forward, there will likely be some UX/UI changes that will be an adjustment. But that's why we're having this discussion now. So that I can be as transparent as possible with the process with as much feedback as possible from y'all!
