    A few times a week this helicopter heads north just off shore of Lake Michigan and returns 5 or 10 minutes later. Canon R7 with RF100-400 f/5.6-8 lens at 400mm uncropped.

    That was funny! I do remember having to get flash bulbs but I don't think I had a camera that used a flash cube. The Kodak that I had in high school took roll film of some sort, maybe about 1.5" square. I still have some of the negatives.

    Eclipses I've known in the past! 2021 with EF100-400 over Lake Michigan and 2017 with EF700-200

    I had a completely wrong approach this time! But I'll be ready for the next one! Let's see, 2044 so I'll only be 20 years older!🙄 I wandered over to the East Quad of Loyola University to get the crowd and eclipse but of course the camera compensated for the darkening sun! It's a normal bright sunny day! EF15mm fisheye. Still thinking about that 14mm rectilinear lens......

    It should give you the same coverage unless you got the 1.4X extender to use with it.

    There are ways of getting the shutter actuation count on Canons, Mark. I watched a YouTube video of someone shuttering his Canon 7D to death! The shutter lasted about as long as Canon's prediction for that camera.

    I've used the EF100mm IS macro with the EF to RF adapter and it works great on the R7.

    Meanwhile, about 5 miles up the Lake Michigan shoreline.......R7 with 50mm f/1.8. A walk in the park after fasting bloodwork at the hospital followed by a skillet breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Preliminary results show that I can cheat a little bit more with pastries! At least that's my interpretation!

    I have that same combination, Bill, and that seems to be a decent lens. I just got the RF 50mm f/1.8 and am posting photos with that lens. Likewise it is good.
