Hello Hoyin
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I too have found that the light meter on the CLE is easily fooled. In situations where you have bright light and shadows, suching as looking outside from indoors, I get either burnt out highlights or no details in the shadows. I think a handheld lightmeter and manual setting on the CLE may be the answer
If they would only make a rangefinder in Leica M-Mount with an evaluative metering system, or even a spot meter. I guess all that technolgy is going to the new digital point and shoots.

Hello all
I've had my Minolta CLE for over 2 years now and love it. However, I
would like to get a second body. I would like to get what I consider
to be the modern interpretation of the Minolta CLE, the Voigtlander
Bessa R2.
Does anyone know how the light meter in the Minolta CLE compares to
the light meter in the new Bessa R2? I would like to get an R2,
however, if it's lightmeter is not better or at least the equal of
the CLE, I'll stick with what I have and maybe buy a new lens instead.
Thanks in advance for everyones responses.

Hello all
I have a Minolta CLE and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out
how to take flash pictures with the flash off of the camera.
I have seen module, sync cords, and adapters, but none of them say if
they are specifically for the CLE or Minolta 700x (both camera's use
the same TTL flash system, and cords that work on a 700x will work on
a CLE.)
I've check through B&H, Adorama, and this forum.
What I want to be able to do is take indoor shots, with the camera
held vertically and still be able to bounce the flash off of the
ceiling. The flash I am using will tilt up but will not twist, so
when held vertical, it will illuminate head on or to the side.
I'm sure there must me some cable that would slide into the hot-shoe
of the CLE on one end and have a hot-shoe at the other end that I
could mount my flash on. I just don't know who makes it, what it's
named, or where to find it.
I'm hopeing the collective knowledge at photo.net will be able to
help me out.
Thanks in advance for everyones time.

CoolPix 5000 turning off on it's own
in Nikon
Posted
Just got a CP5000, it's the first digital I've owned so consider me a
newbie.
I charged the battery till the light on the charger went out. The
battery status icon on the camera shows a full charge.
I turn on the camera and after about 3 minutes or less it turns off
by itself. In all instances the camera was not sitting still, I was
moving it around so the autofocus would be working. I was also
zooming the lens in and out.
In all instances of it shutting down on it's own, it left the lens
extended. Moving the On/Off dial to the Off position would cause the
lens to retract. Moving the dial to the On position would once again
turn the camera on but it would shut off again after a short while.
Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong, or not doing something right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards
