  1. BTW I am surprised it took you that long to fix it.

:) you'll have to exclude cigarette and coffee breaks. once you pull exposure down to catch the sky the foreground almost disappears. I didn't want to go through the graduated filter route so I went for HSL adjustments instead as overall, top 3rd is more blue VS red yellow orange rest. of course with some judicious use of curve adjustment, de-haze and microcontrast (to my limited ability that is). The painful part was bringing sky colour to anywhere near visually acceptable. Sadly part of a cloud (top left) got clipped beyond recovery but hardly noticeable in print.

  2. I should've remembered dialing back to A from M before garbing the shot or at least chimp but alas - a couple hours work in PS made me happy. Not sure it even looks like a photograph anymore :) but the print hangs on one of my walls -

    ever been there?

  3. I still am not certain what your goals may be.

    Knowledge.

I still am not certain what your issues may be.

post below might give you a better idea - if you were in agreement with conclusions made in thread then theres no need for further discussions

Re: How does LR 6 reads Fuji RAF files?: Fujifilm X System / SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

where the hell are adobe fujifilm DCPs (or equivalent) used for camera matching profile application in ACR/ lightroom located on my drive (or yours for that matter).

Adobe 'knows' where to install their profiles

But I don't and only for fujifilm and it's killing me.

what's the issue (if any) question (if any) about these profiles?

if you crack this - hats off

  4. Ouch; way out of date, latest version is 13.3 and as you can see, things may have changed.

    PS 14 or Elements?.

    Ok to make it easier,

top image D700 in ACR. see camera matching.

image below that D700 profiles on drive C:\ProgramData(hidden by default)\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera

image below that X100 in ACR. see camera matching

no further images as theres no X100 folder on drive and for that matter, no fujifilm folders for any model at all!

is it the case at your end?

  5. What version of ACR?

    https://helpx.adobe.com/in/camera-raw/using/adjust-color-rendering-camera-camera.html

    Manually install profiles

The existing DCP profiles on your computer are automatically converted to XMP format, once you update to Camera Raw 10.3. If you want to add a DCP profile after the first launch, copy the profile manually to the following locations:

    Win: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles

    Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles

Ok - does not seem exactly what I was after but I'll take a through look - appreciated anyway!

  6.

Lastly: The location for .dcp camera profiles should be:

    Win: C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles

on my machine tis under (see my previous post)

C:\ProgramData(hidden by default)\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles split into adobe standard and camera sub-folders. under adobe, you'll see single dcps for models covered by your version (not even sure what these do - see screenshot). under camera, you'll see folders for models covered by your version incl. adobe DCP interpretation of the camera specific profiles (e.g. D2X modes 2, 3 etc. for older Nikons) which, I presume, ARC (or lightroom) mounts as you interpolate should you choose camera matching options. funny thing is, fujifilm folders, for any model, considering the aforementioned camera folder tree setup are nowhere to be seen on HDD although corresponding profiles (e.g. fake erm! sorry classic-chrome ;) ) will show once you fire up in ARC as camera matching options. any thoughts?

  7. I think the consensus is that they each have their own, distinctive, looks, but they're not all that close to the actual films. Xtrans 'Astia' (from above) is quite different from Rawtherapee/HaldCLUT 'Astia 100F', which looks closer to real Astia. That's not to say that you can't achieve something close by tweaking the settings.

OP - maybe take a look here?

The Largest Collection of HaldClut/Luts brought together

That's what I actually wanted the OP to google and experiment with in my previous post:) this however is not by all means restricted to haldcuts via Colour> film simulation as you could also mount DCPs via Colous> Colour management> Input > Custom. Not sure re. overall cross-breeding outcome but certain mix'n'matches look highly convincing e.g. Olympus-Nikon (I use Image J to quantify histogram).

On a completely separate note with no relevance whatsoever - somehow fujifilm profile specific PS DCPs (I use ACR as do not own lightroom) are completely missing from the typical HDD location where all other model/ profile specific DCPs live aside from single model e.g. X-E3 (adobe) profiles. tis thus a mystery to me as to where does adobe derive these from? the RAFs themselves?

  8. Not being known doesn't stop the truth from being true. -Richard Bach.

    For Truth-Try Dialogue

I work for a living if you must know - No hidden agenda but I tend to simulate a discussion occasionally as I want to learn, I assume, like others on here incl. yourself. No intention whatsoever to take things to a personal level but firing posts filled with a sense of anger, dismissal of others and (excuse me being blunt) patronising quotes and bold letter words is not necessarily conducive to the truth - on the contrary, tis actually a hindrance to comprehension (on both sides). Whilst the massive underlying technical knowledge is certainly acknowledged and appreciated (certainly you do not need me to validate this), one should perhaps consider a different type of vehicle which ultimately delivers continuously evolving, higher level, of truth.

And no, the truth does not even exist unless it is known and even so - it is only true as far as the extent of your own knowledge at the given time. nuff said at my end.
