  3. Let's see what you saw through those Canon FD, FDn, FL and R lenses. Please share your images. Exposure details are fun and appreciated by all but not necessary. If you are not sure about how to do this do the following: 1. Resize your image to around 1100 plus or minus 100 or so pixels on the longest edge with your photo editing software. 2. At the bottom of the message box click on choose files... 3. Go to the folder with the image you want to upload and click on "Open" 4. Then click on "Submit Topic" at the bottom of the message box. It's just that simple. And it can be from any date. 🙂

  5. OK. How's this for a rear end care of Clive Cussler. A1 FD 50/1.8

  9. I have a Canon FTbn QL but hardly ever use it. Loading film in it is indeed very efficient.
  10. I posted an even more mysterious image of Devil's Tower with a Mamiya 645E on page 27 of the Medium Format Photo thread. Incidentally, the parking lot for the monument is way too small for all of the vehicles and equipment depicted in the movie.

  12. Ben: Funny I never noticed the smaller slot on the take-up spools. When my brother loaded bulk film then he surely cut a leader. That was forty-seven years ago so my memory of that process is quite dim. One of my Canons is an FTBn QL and I like the loading system. All my other Canons are A series. My 1969 Pentax Spotmatic SP also has the short slot. Thanks for the history. I enjoy learning about film cameras.
  13. Potential dumb question alert: Why is there an indent and curve cut into the end of every new roll of film? When you develop the negatives it gets cut off anyway. It doesn't seem necessary. IIRC, when my brother and I used to load bulk film with squared off ends years ago, there was never a problem loading film into the camera.
  14. Don't give up on A-1 cameras. If something happened to my beloved (Oikawa CLA'd) A-1 I'd probably cry, stomp my feet and have to hug my teddy bear.
  15. Which software program are you using? The image is sharp, fine grained and the contrast nice even in the lowest zones. That's a lot to ask of a 35mm Tri-X negative when pushed so hard.
  16. I just wrote to Santa about this 1967 Jaguar MkII 3.8 Saloon A-1 FDn 50/1.4
  17. Jaguar XK140 A-1 FDn 50/1.4 We just can't have enough photos here. As they say in Economics class: "More is better."

  19. After many successful hours in the darkroom today, I got the good results faster than before thanks to your excellent instructions above. Filters were only used when there was an obvious need. I found a non-Kodak pie mask that I forgot I had. It was very inaccurate. I've been at this long enough that my "guesses" were better than the tool. There was also less wasted paper. Thanks a bunch!
  20. I seem to have better luck not using any of these b/w filters. In my experience more often than not, they just add up to a ton of wasted test prints. What's your experience?
