I've travelled a fair bit and now go cheap and lightweight, certainly wouldn't take more than one camera lens. With too much gear I find I miss enjoying the experience of being there. If it's cheap I'm not paranoid about it being stolen or damaged. Usually I walk around with a shoulder bag (manbag!) containing the camera stuff so it's easy to get at when needed.

I recently developed an ache in my right arm, which I have put down to long hours at the computer. Supresequently I have changed my mouse hand from right to left. At first I though this was going to be impossible, but I was surprised how quickly I adapted, being right handed.

I have blog. I also post on Flickr but I like the freedom I have with the blog to put what I like up there and design content and layout for my own purposes. I don't do anything to generate traffic. www.mlpinxit.com. It's hosted by siteground.

I don't think the number of hits is altogether pleasing. A large number come from automated "spammers" trying to find weaknesses in your site and very few from genuinely interested individuals.

Someone once kindly offered to take our picture at scenic location in Arizona with my recently acquired, brand new and expensive digital camera. I was horrified to notice, after I had accepted, that he had no hands, and them amazed when he handled the camera at least as well as any other non-handicapped person.

I'm not sure whether this would work in this case but many pocket cameras have a continuous shoooting mode. You could set this before putting the camera into position. It will keep shooting until the memory card is full.

Adam Burton is on photo.net so why don't you try asking him?

I have V500, and use Vuescan instead of the Epson software. I use colorneg to convert negatives. I usually have the scanner set on the vuescan defaults apart from infra red clean. I use Photoshop (CS4 and CS) to make mainly minor adjustments to saturation, contrast, sharpening etc. If you have specific queries, as I do from time to time, the answer is usually on this website.

Yes I already have tried that, but still the same problem.

Having been confined to the house for a few days recently I have finished a major rebuild of my PC (new everything apart from the case) and upgraded to windows 7 64bit. Everything works fine apart from one niggling problem. When Vuescan is running the PC won’t enter sleep mode on its own. This is only a small problem but slightly annoying as I often like to leave the scanner (Epson v500) running while I go off to make tea, watch TV, go to bed, live a life etc. I’m fairly certain I’ve narrowed it down to Vuescan as it goes to sleep OK when everything else is running.

Although a great deal of skill, care and patience was obviously require to take the shot, it doesn't do anything for me, the reason? The use flash has resulted in an image that looks contrived.

If I were you, I'd leave the camera behind and enjoy the ride!

One thing to consider is the weight, if it's to be your only camera. Some of these MF cameras are big beasts to lug around.

The restaurant at the top of the National Portrait Gallery, nice views across Trafalgar sq, nelsons column. Er it's a bit pricy so make sure that whoever you take there is worth it!

Too complicated...no way. Put your camera on auto run the pics through Silkypix and wowfactor.plus, put your photos on P.net and sue the manufacturers of all three if you don't get 7/7.

Dave, Just to confuse things further we have just gone to BST in UK, which I think is GMT+1.

Get a good pair of walking shoes, some large scale walking maps and leave the car behind...and spend some time mourning the death of the apostrophe.
