That's it really. I've searched and searched but can't see how to delete them

Thanks a lot for all the advice, it was all useful. Since that encounter I have given up doing street, its too much of a worry.
-
My way of doing street photography is to stand in one place for a while and see if any interesting people appear. After a few minutes I move on. I had been doing this for about an hour when two community police officers came up to me and told me that two people had complained to them about me photographing them.
I pointed out that it is not a crime to photograph people in a public place. Nevertheless they wanted my name and address and did a check on me to see if I had any convictions. They also wanted to look at the shots I had taken. All this took place in public view of everyone making it look like I was a criminal.
At the end I told them I was going to make a complaint and they said that was my right. I couldn't be bothered to make a complaint but I'm posting this to see if anyone else has had any problems when doing street. Keith

Hi, I want to move my galleries into one 'Single Photos' gallery. Anyone know how to do this without having to move each photo individually. Thanks
-
Why not do it yourself?

I've just started using photo.net again. Up until last week my internet connection was a dongle with a very weak signal. It worked perfectly well with the old version of photo.net but when they upgraded it wasn't powerful enough to open the site and would lose connection every time I tried. I now have a proper internet connection and it works ok, so I'm glad to be back.

I like the platform but it is managed poorly. In any case, I am not sure that Twitter is the best platform for photographers. I have heard of cinematographers and photographers getting jobs via their work on Instagram, though. Just remember two things: filters reduce engagement (they suck anyway) and you shouldn't overdo the hashtags.
Thanks. I'm not looking for work though just a place to display the shots I've done.
-
I was wondering if anyone uses Twitter to display their work and would you recommend it.
-
No. If the shots aren't worth keeping they won't have made it this far. If they are worth keeping then , well, they stay kept. I can see a lot that's cathartic about throwing away bad photographs, and nothing of merit at all in throwing away good ones whose only sin is that they're a few months old.
As I said before I'm not talking about bad photo's but autumn and winter ones. The last thing I want to look at in early Spring is shots of the bleak winter months.

I know this sounds dumb. I see some fantastic, stunning images of
female nudes on photo.net. They are art as well as erotic and a
tribute to the beaty of the female form. But, how do you start? I
don't know if I'd be comfortable asking a beautiful young (or older)
woman to pose for me. Any suggestions? I mostly do landscape, but
am fascinated, and would like to try a few shots to see if I "have
it in me." Thanks, Paul.
A site called Purple Port is the best around. I've used it many times. There are other model sites around but usually there is very little traffic on them.

I sometimes shoot up to art nude level and they always get far more views than any other category. But what do you think of nudes, are they tacky or tasteful or does it depend how its done.

Might have to give it another try then.

If by 'outdated' you mean 'uninspiring' then perhaps it's not a bad idea. You're basically culling photos which are, in the end, not your best. Would that be a fair comment?
By outdated I mean they are shots of autumn or winter. Its almost Spring so they are outdated.
-
Lots of people seem to use Facebook but I'm not too keen on it. Things seem to appear that I never posted.
-
Now that Spring is on its way I am in the process of deleting my winter and autumn shots which to me now look outdated. Does anyone else do the same thing this time of the year.

I was wondering if any photographers have websites or display their work on Facebook etc. If you do which ones do you use and do you think they are worthwhile.

-

Anyone out shooting today? If so do you have anything specific in mind or like me do you just wander around hoping something good will turn up while getting in everyone's way.

Thanks for replies.

I am nearing the limit of the amount of free shots I can have on Photo. Net and considering an upgrade. Would other members say it is worth the fee?

As a fairly new photographer I've been buying photograph magazines in order to improve my shots. Have to say I've always been disappointed. Even the mags that claim to be for amateurs have photographers in exotic locations using equipment that is out of reach for most for most of us. And my pet hate Photoshop is used so much its more like looking at computer graphic mag. What do others think about photography magazines. Keith

I feel the same way as you Andrea, but just keep reading and practising and bit by bit

I'm in the same position as you Andrea but keep reading and practising and little by little things become clearer. Must feel like a massive responsibility taking wedding photographs. Keith

I've had a digital camera for many years and only ever used one setting. I'm now reading all the books and mags and experimenting with different things and enjoying it much more.

There's some good non technical stuff on youtube that demonstrates several ways in which a background can be blurred.

I love doing Street Photography but......
