The basic idea of the shot is good and the strobe balance against the sun is well done. The hair tassle shadows are quite fun, too. She has a good femine head tilt, not too dramatic.
What white balance did you use? It looks like flash because the sky has a dingy yellow tint. It makes the color on the skin look good but the surroundings look like LA. A daylight balance to bring back the color in the sky and a 1/4-1/3 CTO gel over the flash will bring back the warm feel.
Compositionally - the model's left arm against the hip doesn't quite look natural, as though she's in motion to do something else. The horizon cutting through the model's head is distracting. A slightly higher angle or getting back with a longer lens to prevent this is an idea to try.
Touchup - Also, the green-yellow flare in the model's hair is a bit distracting.

How does one ask an owl to tilt it's head just so and smile for the softbox? That is a trick I'd like to learn!

Gabrel's theater, relatively new in Buenos Aires, puts in a good show.

Used an aluminum snoot with ND .9 and a gelled corro-plastic grid on
2 SB-800s. Thanks for the comments.

Great reward for your punishment.

The mist soaked the filter, making focusing difficult but a nice
effect anyway.

If I could ride a bike like this, I wouldn't be taking pictures of
it.

We worked on getting the right balance of strength, agression &
femininity in the look. This was the last shot of the session. I
had her cross her arms and this was it. Most of the other shots
were nice, but this one made the cut. The media target is a yellow
pages ad, subject on the left. The gradient background was added in
post. It was originally shot on a white sheet & used a strobe to
blast out the background. This did cause a slight purple fringe
around the subject, as to be expected. The sheet had unsightly
wrinkles, otherwise I would have made it only 2 stops brighter than
the key on subject, saving me some work. I used about a 1.3 stop
difference between the key and fill sides of her face.

Thanks for the look.

Looks like the usual circus. Hope no one got seriously hurt.

Nice shots of Chihuli's work!

Great shot, love the shallow DOF.

Keith,
Thanks. I debated fighting to get the shoelace shadow out of the shot. It's a good idea and I improved it over the original shot to what you see here. However, I'll spend more time doing that next time as it was already 11pm and I needed to get to bed. Get studio work earlier, I guess!

Fun interpretation of Chihuli's glasswork. It might be better if your blur streaks were completely straight. I know that's difficult to achieve.

Studio shot with D200 and 3 SB-800's with light modifiers.

Let me know what you think of this for advertising. Thanks!

Great compositing work.

Nice area to the left for copy, wish the glass was rotated 30 degrees more clockwise but that's a nit. Is this a lexan glass? Or was this a one-shot deal?

A critique on lighting technique and results of the LS II, pose and
overall composition are requested, thank you!

How cool is that. Artistry!
