Hello, can anyone enlighten me of how to remove the shutter release button from a Minolta hi-matic 9 spare parts camera and how to replace it in a Minolta hi-matic 7s camera. Also is the shutter release button compatible between these two cameras. Frank W.

Thanks Jeff for your response. I live in Sydney (Australia) and have approached a few people here about getting replacement parts. Their responses have been along the same lines as yours. A couple have even suggested to get a very beaten up hi-matic 7s and cannibalise it. I loathe to do this but its probably what I'll end up doing. Cheers Frank

I recently acquired a Minolta Hi-matic 7s film camera which is missing the trigger release (shutter) button, as well as the black case it originally came in. Does anyone in this network possibly have these two items as spare parts they are happy to part with. I'm more than happy to pay the necessary postage costs to Sydney. Many thanks, Frank.

I recently acquired two 1960's Minoltas - a Hi-matic 7 and a Hi-matic 7s. The Hi-matic 7s is missing the shutter release button, but works fine otherwise. Where can I find a replacement for it and is it straightforward to install. Now, the trigger (or film advance lever) of the H-matic 7 won't automatically return to its original set position. Initially the trigger was stiff, but I took the base cover off and applied some silicone spray. This helped a little, but the problem still largely remains. Also the shutter is very lethargic on this (the 7) camera. Can anyone offer assistance here. Many thanks Frank.
