Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I took this as I was driving back home, having only a standard lens with me at the time, with no polarizer to darken the sky. I wish I did though, it would have made for a much better picture.
The picture has been cropped from the original scan, which did not have a very high resolution to start with; hence the lines. I will need to redo the scan to fix this. Thanks.

Thanks for the comments. The original shot does have the green boat in its entirety; this was scanned from a 4x6 print, and the photo processor cropped some of the boat out when making the print. My oversight.

Thanks so much for the comments. This was actually taken in the afternoon, in late November. We had spent part of the morning driving through this fog (in the picture you can see several valleys filled with the stuff). As we climbed up towards the hill town of Montalcino, all of a sudden we were in the clear, looking down at it. It felt like a "magic moment". After getting some lunch, walking around the town walls, I spied this view.
The sun was very weak and the foreground was not well lit; I decided I wanted to get good detail in the vineyards, so let the fog (which was bright white, and dense) lose some detail.
For more pictures from Tuscany, please check out my "Italy" folder and post your comments. Thanks.

Taken from the city walls of Montalcino, a little town in Tuscany.
The whole valley was "filled" with fog. Foreground shows what is a
vineyard in spring/summer.

Do let me know what you think of this picture
Road to Pienza

Taken from city walls of Pienza, Italy, in November 2000 just before
sunset. Do the misty conditions add a feeling of depth, or detract
from the picture? Would like to know what you think. Thanks for your
comments.
