Thankyou Michael. Yes looking at this again I agree more contrast and sharpening would have helpeda lot, especially with this being a monochrome photo. kind regards.

Thanks Niels and Chris, much appreciated.

Jim, I must admit I did skew the angle on purpose, but I agree your version does look stronger. Thankyou.

Yes Jorge I was lucky that the two women walked into the shot just at the right moment. I didn't even see them before that.

  1. Street art by U.K. artist Dale Grimshaw for the Cities Of Hope festival. Papua New Guinea Child representing the struggles of the people of West Papua who are fighting for independence.

Most of these great pieces of street art are hidden away haphazardly in the back streets of derelict former slum areas of inner city Manchester. When you come across them it is like finding hidden treasure.

The Urbis centre in Manchester was previously a modernist museum for world culture. It now houses the National Football Museum. The rear of the building widens and slants down like a massive ski slope.

This is one of a series of street art by French graffiti artist Akse, in the "northern quarter" district in Manchester. The photo I took was a bit dull and bland, but using the in-camera "impressive art" effect has kind of rescued it I think.

Hi Ishana. I think this is a very nice photo - the narrow depth of field is perfect here. I would say maybe the far background, even though it has a great bokeh effect, is a bit too colourful and distracting to the eye considering the soft muted colours of the subject.  That often can't be avoided I know, but like I say overall it's a lovely picture. Nice work!

btw- welcome to photo.net and hope you enjoy it here. :-)
