Michael, many thanks for your pictures and your explanations, it really helps, and I
also learned a lot from it, really appreciated!!!
Using the part number you provided, I found a website which still has the screws
available, I will contact them and buy couple of these screws.
Here is the website

Many thanks again.

Thanks for all the input, I went to town centre this afternoon and borrowed a screw driver from the watch repair shop, and the problem solved by just fastening the screw!!
Many thanks again.

Thanks, Kari. I will do that.

Do you have any idea about the type/size of screw driver that should be used? thanks

Many thanks Michael. The picture really helps.

Now I can see the grub screw, but only one grub screw, as on the other side it does not has any screw, just a hole.
Is this normal? I guess it would be very difficult to get a screw of such type.

Thanks, Rodeo. Only the filter thread rotated, the front element and other parts inside that I can see stay in their position.

Do not think I can fix it myself, never done anything similar. A repair manual would help?

I am currently using Nikon 28mm f2.8 AIS on my F3, it is really an excellent quality lens, but one thing worries me a bit, the filter thread could be rotated about 1- 2 degrees.
I also have a 50mm f1.8AFD lens, but the 28mm f2.8 lens has much loose filter thread than the 50mm one.
Just wondering for those who have this 28mm AIS, does yours have similar issue? Is this normal? Would it affect focusing? etc.

Thanks in advance.

Here is the two focusing screen side by side comparison, the picture was taken before sending it back to the seller.
H2 is the one on the right. The metal frame of K is actually a bit taller/thicker than the H2s, but I am not sure about the glasses.

Thanks for all the input. The metal frame of this H2 looks exactly the same as the K apart from that the H2 is a bit wider, it does have a flange. The K can be easily slipped into the position but no matter how hard I push the H2 it would not go in.
The seller agree for a refund so I have posted it back, cannot do any tests anymore.
Mine is F3HP

Many thanks, Sandy.
One more question, if it is a focusing screen for F3 it will definitely fit, doesn't it?

Its perhaps one for F2. I bought it from ebay 2 days ago which was advertised for F3, and I've asked for the seller for a refund.
My journey for getting a H2 cannot be called smooth. Just a month ago, I bought a H2 from a Japanese seller, when I opened the package turned out to be a K screen although on the nikon box it say H2, it ended up I keep the K screen and get a refund.
Now, it IS a H2 but it does not fit!!!

Just bought a H2 screen for my F3, but just find out that it cannot be fitted into the F3, the H2 is a bit wider than my K screen.
is it a focusing screen for F3?
Is that your work?

Lex: good advise! The price is not cheap as the camera is really in excellent cosmetic condition and quite a few people put bid on it.
Shun: he is a kind of 'commercial' seller on ebay, I think he acquired the camera from somewhere and then sell it on ebay. He has 100% feedback, which is why I trust him with his description of the camera.

Thanks, Paul. I have issued an return and refund request via ebay, and just got response from the seller, will return it to him shortly.

-

Thanks, Andreas. The damage was not advertised, actually it was described Excellent++ condition.
Indeed, apart from the shutter damage, the camera is in excellent cosmetic condition, but the seller did not put an image of the damaged part of the shutter on ebay.
I have upload the image to my flickr account and it will be great if you could have look at it as I am really new to film cameras
