I upgraded from a 40D for two major
readons; 1: larger sensor with more
resolution so I could crop deeper; 2:
incredible low light abilities. On the
minor side was wifi which I use often
now. But the main reasons I upgraded
have been satisfied. I like the 6D very
much.

I added a Canon grip to my 6D
because I have big hands. It makes it
feel perfect to me. I don't like a neck
strap so the grip strap adds to its value
for me as does the additional battery
slot; it feels more industrial (sort of) like
the Nikon tanks I used overseas years
ago. If you're happy with most other
aspects of the 6D, you might try that.
Additionally, swap in a bigger card.
That with two batteries will give you
much longer shoot time.

Good point on the micros; I use them in
XM and other music products. Never
have in photo. Will need to try that!
Again, good point.

I take 4 fast 64gb units with me
wherever I go, plus an 8gb just in case.
I have a 6D and have never run out of
space. I agree, it would be good to take
the 7d. The adjustability and night
metering will be sorely missed....I also
take a small MacBook Pro in my
backpack so I can do initial keep/don't
keep at night in the hotel. On the other
hand, the cards should not be hard to
find in any of those countries.

It's a very interesting unit with many
possibilities; I don't think I need that
resolution yet. Though I'm very happy
with my 6D and it's awesome lowlight
ability, I'll watch the 5ds until it's time to
upgrade. Glad Canon now tops the
sensor size war for the moment; they're
thinking!

Good test shot. I didn't see any reason
for the more expensive version.
Simpler is better!

It is the Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter,
Black M42 (42mm x1 thread Mount),
mounts screw thread lens to EOS
body. Have to remember to manually
stop the lens down. I bought it to adapt
an old Yashica bellows/slide copier that
I bought overseas and never used. The
consumer grade scanners are not
acceptable; thought why not use my
6D's scanner. The Zeiss lens is
excellent.

I just got a good one through Amazon.
My old Zeiss works great and infinity is
there. I'll try to post when I get home....

I like the Canon EOS 6D Digital Field
Guide by Michael Corsentino.

I put Beattie screens in my OM-1s and
OM-4s. Still seem slightly dimmer tan
both my old 40d and new 6d although I
did put an architectural screen in the
6d. It seems brighter to these old
eyes....
How safe are 3rd party batteries?
