A very exciting picture! This is an example of how the first realization of a picture may somehow not make it, but with time and reexamination, the beauty of what was originally seen can come out.

One more suggestion (take or leave!) I think the picture would look more 'whole' without the half-oval black blob of rock about 2/3 of the way up on the left. Judicious use of the clone stamp tool could easily make it naturally disappear. You can cover it with your finger and imagine it. Then the horizontal elements above it, which stretch across the entire length of the image, would be more powerful. This is 'cheating' if your purpose is a literal record, but with color and Photoshop my attitude is that we should feel well justified in making the same kinds of adjustments that painters have been making for hundreds of years...

I really like not only the image, but also the style it typifies. No spectacular sunrise/sunset or other obvious dynamic, but a harmonious composition and color palette. The eye is led as gently into and through the picture as the subject matter demands. The only change I might make is to eliminate the gold shards of clippings in the foreground of the road. Yes, this is "cheating" but a painter wouldn't hesitate to consider them as optional. It's easy enough to do in this digital age...

I like the asymmetry, tonal beauty, and evocativeness of this image. I would eliminate the highlights at the edge of the picture on the extreme right. Also, an old trick taught me years ago, I would try horizontally inverting the picture. This would give the thrust of the image a left to right rather than right to left orientation, which is more natural to most people (give it a try).
