  1. You are right, this is a simple composition. Good use of complimentary colours too. I think the critical thing about this particular photo is that all the leaves be in sharp focus, to emphasize their shapes, which is what makes maple leaves interesting. Nice Job.

    This might benefit from cropping off just enough from the left edge to hide that first step. As it is the step detracts from the repetitiveness of the pattern around the door, that makes this scene so interesting.

    By itself, this photo is much too confusing. Having seen another in this series, I know what that big blurry thing is, but by itself, this doesn't work for me at all.
  2. This is a picture of 3 birch trees looking through a bunch of alder

    branches (red). The intent of this when I took it was to try to capture

    the colour of the alders. I think the colour seemed so impressive at

    the time because it completely surrounded me. Any shots I took that

    actually focussed on the alders themselves seemed to deaden this

    impact. This recaptures the feeling for me, does anyone else get the

    same feeling?
