Great shot. How did you determine how much ND to use? Did you take spot readings to ascertain exposure difference? I ask because I've just got a Pentax spot meter and this is exactly t what I would expect to need it for.

On the colour, for me, the forground looks a little magenta. If it were mine I'd probably want to adjust the colours a bit. Just my feeling - doesn't alter what is great reward for some real application of photograhic skills, well done.

  1. I've taken a few of this chapel myself but always seemed to be there on a nice sunny day. You have shown a very much more moody shot than I ever did. I think it works really well with just enough detail in the forground to add that depth. The clouds in front of the mountains in the background have helped focus very much on the chapel and give a sense of isolation. And the reflection caps it all off beautifully, the stillness emphasising the loneliness.

    Top shot.

  2. I really like the shot and you've held the sky well. You don't say if you used an ND grad but this shot and shots of this type can be improved by using them. Keep it up though, this a good attempt. (6,5)

Excellent - the best of the set. The subtle colours, simplicity and dark clouds give this something extra. Its better because the bright spot of the sun is not directly visible. (7,6)
  3. I like the framing of this view masked down from a full 4x5 slide but

the shadow in the foreground gave some dodging and burning

difficulties. I also tried warming up the shot and increasing the

saturation/contrast in the sky. I may have overdone it a bit. What do

    you think?

  4. Looked like a great day for climbing. Good shot with the people. Pity the polariser has almost blackened the sky. Don't know where Comodot is. I have some high shots taken in Switzerland which may be of interest to you. (5,5)
