Washington monument and Capitol building seen from Lincoln memorial.
This section of the lincoln memorial was closed closed shortly after
9/11, they just opened it couple of moths back. I had seen a similar
picture a while back, finally I got a chance to try it out myself.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Atanu,
I did try BW, it becomes a little too flat. The color seems to bring out a better contrast. If you want to play with it, i'll be glad to get the original file to you.

slight color, contrast and brightness adjustment done using picasa

Taken around sunset, converted to B&W, selective soft focus applied,
darkened a little to get the details in the sky. Would appreciate
comments.

long exposure set on tripod. Was shot from the Iwo Jima memorial in
Washington DC. got there pretty late, about 5 mins before the event
started, was one among about 75 tripods, someone was kind enough to
let me squeeze in my tripod and set it up.
Had to clean up a little in Capture NX to deal with the smoke. Have
another picture of the very first fireworks display which has much
less smoke, willbe posting that soon. Would appreciate any comment. If
someone has a different picture shot from the same location, would
love to see that.

This is abouble exposure, one for the moon and the second for the
building. Negative was scanned and contrast/color adjusted slightly
using Capture NX. Wish I knew a way to clean up dust from negative.
The horizontal bright spots in the lower half of the image are from
street lights.
Would appreciate comments.
Thanks.

Corrected color and contrast. Found this Ganesh for sale when I was in
India in Aug during a festival. For Simpsons fans: Homer dressed up as
Ganesh and tried to steal peanuts from an elephant durinng Appu's
wedding :)
Anyway, would appreciate comments. Thanks

My first attempt at creating an HDR image. Used trial version of
Photomax. Combined from three diffrent images exposed @ -2,0,+2. I am
facinated by HDR images and am trying to learn, would appreciate
comments. If any one wants to work on it, would be willing to post my
original images.

have had some luck with my camera phone. Although the images arent
sharp, i do like the results I am getting. Apart from the flash
reflection, I am happy with this picture. I did adjust the brightness,
crop and the warming in picasa. Would appreciate feedback.
thanks
