I paid 150.00 USD and thay repaired my camera. Now every things work orderly but I still wander if why a brand new camera makes such a trouble. I did not drop tne camera etc. No bad treatment at all but the camera had a hardware problem just in a few days. I have been told by the repair person there was a bad connection and they fixed it. The International Warranty Service does not work good at all.

Thanks every one to show interest the problem... And I would like to state that Pentax user assistance service did not help at all instead of their statements in the sales paper.

Thanks to all for your kind contribution. I took the camera to the authorized service and they said to me there was a hardware problem. They said that IfI want to utilize warranty service, there will be a long procedure, it will take at least a month or more. They will write to Bhphotovideo store, and pentax etc., since the seller will pay the repairement fee. I decided to pay the repair fee and they will fix my camera. I will write to this forum at the and of repairemen process. Thanks alot.

I sent this message to "userassistance@pentax.com" and I did not get any

respond by now, five days past, even though they claim that they respond to

the mails in 48 hours in most instances. I think that this thread can be

usefull to some people thinking to buy this camera. "Dear Sir, I live in

Turkey and a friend of mine bought a Pentax K10D Camera for me from BH Photo

Video Store in New York USA and brought it to Turkey. I could only use my

camera within a very limited time, let us say a few days and very few trial

shots, just for try and learn experience. Now I have had an exposure problem

with my camera. The metering system does not work properly. ݦ I believe in

metering, I can get so much overexposed shots. Over exposed about two or three

stops. I tried to get back to the default settings thinking if I caused any

program problem, but the problem pursues. Otherwise the camera works

perfectly. What is this problem? What could couse such a problem. I have got

a sales receipt (Invoice) but I do not have an international warranty card.

Bhphotovideo sold this product with a one year Pentax limited warranty but my

friend did not bring a warranty card to me. There are few Pentax worlwide

services in Istanbul but I am not sure if I can utilize these services for

free repair without an international warranty card. The invoice date is 28th

of December, 2006. I would be most grateful if you can help me with this

I changed lenses and I usually use a Pentax 28 mm, f 2.8 FA autofocus lens. Thanks for your contribution.

After spending a two happy years with my Pentax ist D camera, I decided to

upgrade and I bought a Pentax K10D. But now I am having serious problems with

new camera of mine. After a few try and learn shots, the metering system of my

camera got out of order and I started to have too much overexposed shots. This

could be a programme problem but changing camera settings to default factory

settings, did not work and I wrote the problem to the Pentax. Any one have

such a distressing problem?

I found something from myself in every type you described. You are a very keen observer and describer, "cute" in other worlds. Congratulations. I am confronted myself after reading this article. I call this "wit".

Before you, I was attacked by some one who disguises his or her ID like all cowards and I deleted all my photos and reloaded again and I am at about the same row now on the top member-rated photographers before deleted. Yes I accepted my photos were contaminated in this or that way and I did the correct thing but as to the photos. of yours, one can not suspect any contamination by you or your entourage. Before you, I told and wrote many times, this sistem is open to abuse and must be corrected and your proposal is one of the best solution to me as well. I would like to state some of my ideas about this sistem. These are taken from a letter which I sent to a member:

 

"As you see, I am No.-- at the moment in the row of top member-rated photographers and no one cliaim that these ratings include any phony ratings. There are some others photos of mine better than these ones and when they got ratings more then 10 (some of them are about to) this situation can change on behalf of me. This just prooved me one thing, "I am not someone loafing with an expencive camera in his hand and taking snapshots and boasting on the photo.net"

 

That does not mean that I am a good photographer, or better than the other photographers who have ratings less than mine. These are only numeric values and vice versa could be correct. But now I would like to ask you what is the rivalry problems between the top member-rated photographers. Have they got any benefit from this list. I am an amateur and being on the photo.net is just a hobby for me. I spent and can spend thousonds of US Dollars for photography as a hobby, and I did not earn a cent from the photography and I do not intend either..."

I would like to share my feelings with the members but I am painfully sorry about things happened to Dennis and I want to see him soon on the photo.net again...
