So, how do you get images to look so uniform? These images are a large set and look perfect together. So, I'm wondering how you manage to keep the color consistent between scenes and photos?

I guess that's an incentive to move up to some real strobes.

Using a softbox AND gels sound like they will kill all of the power in a speedlite :(

Man, I just over expose 1 stop ALL DAY when using my AE-1 in the city, ends up pretty reliable since there are so many shadows trying to pull the exposure down.

The downside to centerweighted is you have to calculate focus and exposure on the center, before you recompose the shot

The RZ's are BEASTS

To be honest it is hard to find one that DOESN'T work correctly. Overall, the best bet is to get a firstgen RZ if you want the best bang for your buck.

The fastest way to shoot is to use a DSLR to meter everything as well. I used to shoot polaroids, but why rely on extremely archaic metering technology?

Ok, I'm pushing the budget, but I would just go for this:

Just add a simple ball head and you are good to go. It really helps you get really low to the ground as well and is amazingly stable. Buy once, spend less!
