My co-worker just got his hands on the new Letus AnamorphX-GP, an anamorphic adapter for GoPro cameras. Here's our <a href="
video.
I'm really digging the look that this adapter gives you. I'm seriously thinking about producing a short film with just this set-up.

Anyone seen <a href="
adapter? Apparently it fixes the problem you get when you try to use a variable ND filter on a wide lens. Right now they only have an EOS lens to Sony E-mount model, but they mentioned possibly making a micro four thirds model. Full disclosure: I do video work for these guys and I helped edit this video. I really enjoyed working with the adapter, but I don't own an E-mount camera, so I'm waiting for the m43 version.
-

Go with the EOS M. It's a great little camera with a ton of power

Has anyone used either of these? If so, what did you think? I have access to a few but I'm not sure how I'd use them. I do mostly video work, and I was thinking about using a couple to shoot a short video about a friend of mine who just restored a muscle car. I'd also be taking some stills. Seems like a good way to get a lot of diffused light into a scene, but maybe they'd make the scene too flat? Thoughts?

I think I'm going to play around with the pinhole they're including first before I buy a lens. I want to make sure I have the processing down before I sink money in a lens. I'm planning on doing some practice shots with x-ray film and caffenol.

Thanks for the tips. Minimal research I did online lead me to believe they were Pentax lenses.

Using a long focal length, zooming in, helps knock out the background

The 3+ can be used in the Hero3 housing. Technically, what they told you was true, but it's a pain to have to buy a Hero3 housing. Sorry man

Canon and Panasonic make some nice entry level camcorders. If you wanted to get really fancy, check out the Canon EOS Rebel line. Shooting video with a DSLR can achieve some pretty lovely results.

Indy filmmaker's love shooting with FDs, so if you don't want em, I guarantee you'll get em sold fast.

Yes, a CPL will knock out pretty much all of the reflection. I use a Fotdiox CPL that comes in a kit with a UV filter and an ND8. Works like a charm.

There are many manufacturers of these. The trick is to find a manufacturer that uses good materials.

Check out the Aputure VS1 or VS3. Both really reliable, low price options. My friend uses one on all of his shoots.

I have the same problem. Sometimes hitting something with a large blunt object is your only option ; )

Just got the newest update and I guess they're still having issues. Sigh. At least they care about quality. Can you imagine how long it would take for Canon or Nikon to out out a new DSLR is those companies were run by two people? : ) I'm hopeful for a lightweight 4x5 to shoot with by the spring. We'll see.

I bought a bag of camera stuff at a thrift store for a steal. Inside were some old Sears 35mm film lenses. I wasn't sure what kind they were, but after some research I found that Sears would re-brand Pentax glass. I was going to get rid of them until I discovered that the company I work for, Fotodiox, sells adapters for old Pentax K mount lenses. I shoot video and photo with my Canon T2i, so I grabbed an EOS to PK adapter and took them for a spin The lenses are 50 and 28mm. The 28mm works great as a macro and the 50mm has really pleasing Bokeh. I also got a gargantuan zoom lens in the bag that I still need to test.
Here's a link to the video test I shot with them: https://vimeo.com/68750538

If you're looking for a solid, all around video camera option, I'd look at the EOS Rebel line. They're affordable, extremely versatile and shoot great video. If you're looking to do night shooting, I'd recommend getting a lens adapter and some vintage fast glass. They aren't full frame cameras but they shoot beautiful 1080p HD video. I have a T2i and I shoot video with it almost every day. Here's an example of some footage I shot with it: https://vimeo.com/40568710
