1.
Anyone seen <a href="

adapter? Apparently it fixes the problem you get when you try to use a variable ND filter on a wide lens. Right now they only have an EOS lens to Sony E-mount model, but they mentioned possibly making a micro four thirds model. Full disclosure: I do video work for these guys and I helped edit this video. I really enjoyed working with the adapter, but I don't own an E-mount camera, so I'm waiting for the m43 version.

  2.
Has anyone used either of these? If so, what did you think? I have access to a few but I'm not sure how I'd use them. I do mostly video work, and I was thinking about using a couple to shoot a short video about a friend of mine who just restored a muscle car. I'd also be taking some stills. Seems like a good way to get a lot of diffused light into a scene, but maybe they'd make the scene too flat? Thoughts?

  3.
Canon and Panasonic make some nice entry level camcorders. If you wanted to get really fancy, check out the Canon EOS Rebel line. Shooting video with a DSLR can achieve some pretty lovely results.

  4.
I bought a bag of camera stuff at a thrift store for a steal. Inside were some old Sears 35mm film lenses. I wasn't sure what kind they were, but after some research I found that Sears would re-brand Pentax glass. I was going to get rid of them until I discovered that the company I work for, Fotodiox, sells adapters for old Pentax K mount lenses. I shoot video and photo with my Canon T2i, so I grabbed an EOS to PK adapter and took them for a spin The lenses are 50 and 28mm. The 28mm works great as a macro and the 50mm has really pleasing Bokeh. I also got a gargantuan zoom lens in the bag that I still need to test.
Here's a link to the video test I shot with them: https://vimeo.com/68750538

  5.
If you're looking for a solid, all around video camera option, I'd look at the EOS Rebel line. They're affordable, extremely versatile and shoot great video. If you're looking to do night shooting, I'd recommend getting a lens adapter and some vintage fast glass. They aren't full frame cameras but they shoot beautiful 1080p HD video. I have a T2i and I shoot video with it almost every day. Here's an example of some footage I shot with it: https://vimeo.com/40568710
