  1. OK suppose I create a Gallery called, "Wildflowers" or "Cars." Then I post 5-10 photos in that gallery.

How do I send a link to someone so that he/she can view the images in that gallery only?

How can I insure that he/she cannot download the photos in that gallery to his/her computer?

    ------------------------------------

Sadly, so far since the second iteration of photo.net, I think that:

For a photo site to have the Gallery section so poorly implemented - is a crime.

Photos still load slowly (I have FIOS - and 100mb/sec download speed); the thumbnails are poorly displayed (horizontal thumbnails of vertical photos? really...); navigating through a particular gallery is tedious, slow...poorly implemented!

I could go on...but several weeks after the fact, the gallery section remains a disaster.

  3. by the way, can't say whether this was a coincidence or not...but after all my complaints somehow my galleries were deleted (with all the photos I've posted for 10 years plus). So I asked for my money back for 2017-18 and anything else I can get. I would recommend this to anyone having problems - vote with your wallet. When problems are resolved - and I doubt this will happen in a reasonable amount of time - perhaps return. I would consider returning if they revert to the old site...but they clearly will not do that. So after 10 years I can say goodbye - but Glen, do send the money as you promised.

  4. Oh well...my galleries and photos within are gone today. I am still calling this rollout Mistake #2. Glen - you are a nice man and trying hard...but this is another failure. So far you folks are in over your heads. REVERT...the new site does not meed my needs especially when the hard work I put in disappears...twice. Oh well...looks like I am headed toward Flicker. Glen: how can I get a refund of the money I have paid in for the remainder of 2017 and 2018?

  5. "To be clear, the change is almost universally worse for me." YES

look, the folks behind this have tried hard again - and it is better than Mistake #1 several months ago. But better than Mistake #1 does not a new web site make. It is NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME. Who decided that it was roll out time? How could they miss so many problems?

  6. Yes the Portfolio section (and this is a photo web site!!!) is an unmitigated disaster. Photos are slow to load...how do a send a link to a portfolio to someone? That is not possible with this re-design. Again, the folks who did this while well intentioned, are not web design people. Roll back the changes and try again..in 10 years.
  7. <p>have a look at this recent video:</p>

    <p>

<p>DPR (especially) and FM forums (somewhat) do a good jod of discussing the merits and disadvantages of each adapter for stills. I have not looked into Metabones IV/video much except for a quick search on the internet to address your query...so you might do an intensive search - especially on You Tube...or ask the same question over at DP Review: Metabones IV performance and the Sony a6300 VIDEO.</p>

<p>The other adapters - the non Metabones and Non Sigma MC-11 - those are not in the same ballpark as the Meta/Sigma...so avoid.</p>

<p>I have the Metabones IV (don't get the III or II) and for many lenses up to the 100-400 version II Canon zoom, it gives me 95% of the speed of a native Canon lens. I highly recommend this combo. Metabones issues frequent updates to its adapter. The Verion IV adapter is "flocked" on the inside so light rays are not reflected and do not end up causing problems on the sensor/final image.</p>

  9. <p>I have that lens and use it on the 5Ds. IF you can get a sharp copy, it is a great lens...99% as good as the Canon 24-70 F2.8 II with the added benefit of Tamron's version of IS...which I find very helpful. This is one lens you want to purchase new because quality control could be better. My experience was that I was not satisfied with one edge of the lens (less sharp than the other)...I called Tamron and then sent it in...and within 10 days had a sharp edge to edge copy of this lens. If you search the web this is not a rare (and not a common) complaint about this lens...and one person sent and re-sent the lens back for additional adjustments - but he never got a copy he liked. Personally, I like this lens a lot - good price...very very sharp with IS.<img src="/photo/18190262" alt="" /></p><div>00dky2-560903784.thumb.jpg.e7f244f636266eb6bfe5902274d0506f.jpg</div>
  10. <p>Canon announced the new EOS 80D Digital SLR camera, featuring an new 45-point AF system, 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor. The camera features Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus (DAF) technology coupled with an intuitive touchscreen capability for easy focusing when shooting video<br>

someone here will do a fine write-up - in the meantime I just wanted to get the info on people's radar.</p>

  11. <p>Rather than a lab how about someone who has a large format printer and prints professionally? Put an advert over at Luminous Landscape in the digital B/W section: http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?board=61.0</p>

    <p>or the Printers/Papers/Ink section: http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?board=6.0</p>

<p>many experienced printers there who do fine work and I bet will give you a better quote and faster service than a lab.</p>
