1. If this isn't for business purposes than why worry about it? Personally I

wouldn't pay for a domain name just to share my work. There are

cheaper ways. Anyway, as others have said I like the simple look to your

site but I don't believe that the blog style fits your content very well.

Also, even as a guitarist I didn't pick up on 251 at first. It took me a while

to get it. As for your photography itself goes I really like it. However,

some of your pictures look like your auto focus is a little off. Which is

what I think makes them "murky". Be careful with thinking that your

photography is just a hobby. I use to think like that but now I'm shooting

events and taking portraits for extra money. Unfortunately, most of the

good pictures I took when it was "just a hobby" can't be used for my

portfolio because I don't have proper permission or model releases to

    go along with them.

  2. Thanks Matthew. The goal is to both share my images and bring business. The problem with posting my

portrait work is that I don't have model releases. The same applies for much of my travel photography

which was taken while tdy in the Air Force. Right now I'm working on building up my portfolio with

images that I can legally use online. However, as far as everything else goes do you think that at least my

layout and front page photos are competitive? In other words if you saw my front page would you hire me

for a gig or pass me up?

  3.
Hello. My passion for photography started years ago in junior high when my oldest brother gave me his old Minolta film camera. My gear might be a lot fancier these days but I still love the look, feel and style unique to only film. I've referenced Photo.net for many years but I've finally reached the point in my photography where my questions don't have simple answers. I also feel that perhaps I finally have something to contribute.

  4.
I'm new to photo.net. I've read articles and forum entries on this site for years. However, right now I really need some feedback. Here's my site. Am I on the right track with my portfolio website? I'm looking to start a business mainly shooting portraits of friends and family. However, I'm not sure if the feedback I'm getting from friends is reliable or not.
