Hello,
I recently photographed a wedding for a couple. The wife builds websites for a living, we decided to do an exchange of services because
I didn't have a website yet, and they didn't have a lot to spend for their wedding. She asked me to send her photos to put on the website,
so I did, she's promised to upload them the next day and it never happend. I've sent her photos a few times thAt she's promise to upload
"soon" and it never happens. I've shown her some photos from the wedding and she's been really impressed, but I haven't heard from her
in a few weeks and she hasn't responded about my website questions like why aren't my photos getting uploaded?
What can/should I do? This Is is really frustrating.

I'm hardly qualified to give advice but basically, what I found most valuable was to educate yourself (including wedding photo poses, and be comfortable with your equipment), be prepared, and have some (but not too much) faith in yourself. Good luck :)

I do put quiet a bit of work into my post production, and yes the Bride and Groom were really happy with the photos. I would love feedback, if anyone feels like offering it.

Incase anyone's interested, I'm uploading a few photos from the wedding to photo.net

Thanks so much everyone! Writing about myself has always been a weak spot for me.

Portraits, are my primary interest.

What kind of information would you include in your bio? I'm beginning to write mine and I keep getting stuck, because I'm not quiet sure
what to include.

Hi Paul! The wedding went well, I received a glowing letter of thanks from the bride for my professionalism and attitude the next morning. I'm finishing up editing photos at the moment

Let me zone in on the you photographed Ray Bradbury thing for a second. That is absolutely incredible!! I'm a Bradbury fan. All of those sound like such incredible experiences. I enjoy photography, the experiences you gain, and the people you meet doing it.

All of those locations would provide some great chances for photography. I loved shooting in Washington Dc, although most of the photos I took were of monuments, and they weren't particularly creative they bring up some great memories.

What is your favorite photo shoot you've done? Maybe the theme was something you were interested in, maybe there were very minimal issues, or ideal shooting conditions, maybe everything went so wrong that its funny to look back on. Tell me about it. :)

I know my gear isn't ideal, nor is it a traditional choice. I also know that I'm not a terrible photographer.
I have an itinerary of the day, someone to help me get people together in groups, the wedding is smaller and relaxed, and the bride has minimal concern about formal photos, and primarily wants candid's (besides photos of her with her parents and one wedding party group shot) that was her request. I've read so much about wedding photography, discussed my clients expectations, etc.
I guess I'll post more after the wedding.

For this occasion, I'd rather shoot with something I'm comfortable with than trying to figure out a new camera in 7 days. Though I do intend to buy a DSLR in the near future, it's a matter of not having the money for that at the moment.

I'm shooting with a GE x400, the wedding is taking place in a lodge with many windows, later in the afternoon.

Docracy.com provides some great customizable contracts (for free). I'd definitely recommend taking a look there to at least base your contracts off of. It's been really helpful for me. :)

Hello,
Well, everyone has to start wedding photography somewhere... Right? I'm photographing my first wedding on July 27th. My client is aware I'm not a pro-wedding photographer, but the Bride and her Fiancé saw samples of my previous work, and liked what they saw. I feel confident I can handle the event, but I'm looking for any tips that you guys think can ultimately benefit me, and my clients.
Thanks for your time.

After quiet awhile, I received an email from her. I haven't given her all of the photos yet, and I'm not planning on it until I
receive the username/password for my website. I'm also not planning on trading services... Ever again.
