Although her expression is priceless, I think there are too many layers in this photo. It is good but there's a lot going on in the background. Two people looking back to the camera

I think the crop does a disservice to the beauty of the feathers. Maybe all of the spread should be in frame?

I like your idea of contrasting the model with the stone sphere. And having her eye-line looking away from the camera. There is a nice rhythm going on. 

I agree. This photo is really elegant and relaxing. Perfect time of day too.
