    I love this.

I agree with some of the other comments, that the men do not seem to have a given relationship, but I think that is the beauty of this picture. Every time you look at it you're wondering (and imagining) what's going on. This is a picture I would never get tired of.

    Well done

This is a beautiful image, well done.

I must agree with Pawel Oziemblowskis comments on macro nature shots. People do not look at these shots with the wonder that nature deserves. They also do not give credit for how difficult it is to get a decent shot of e.g. a bee - with wings that are never still for a minute. I mainly take this type of photograph for the pleasure of seeing the marvellous detail of these wonders. I do not post them anymore due to comments such as, "it would have been better to move that blade of grass one millimetre to the left"

Just a plastic rose. What a shame this wasn't a real one. The reflections from the surface spoil it, otherwise I love the compostion. Take it again and invest in the real thing.
  1. I agree that this is artwork, I dabble myself, but if you read a lot of the comments, on Photonet, advising how to improve images... you will find that many, many of the "photographs" have been enhanced. What is the difference, except that we artists freely admit, and do not even try to hide, it. I think this image is brilliant, bring great interest to some very boring and controversial objects. If it doesn't match up to all the "rules" so what. It is far more interesting than boring photos of tulips with all the shadows in the right places. If you photographers don't like it why can't we have our own pages.

Very nice, it would be lovely if the old man could really have been John Wayne (I imagined that true). I do find the frame a bit distracting though.
  2. These shots are so repetative and frankly, to a non-sports fan, boring. This particular one is far too cropped making it cramped and overwhelmingly 'busy',thus stressful. The choice of this for pic of the week is insulting to the wonderful Owl from last week, If this is the best, the owl should have been given a second week.
  3. I am responding to your comment about 'lack of comments', with which I totally agree. So here goes, although I am a beginner so my comments are probably worthless.

This Cathedral is local to me, I know it well, and I have never seen starbursts and blue moons. I love this picture but it would have been better without these artificial "enhancements". Rather to have cropped the right hand side than insult such an ancient, and beautiful, building.
