The colors really pop. Excellent shot. I'd love to know what post processing techniques you used here as well as any lighting techniques. In my eyes, it is a technically perfect image.

Beautiful - wow. The colors...

What a precious moment you've captured! I saw this in the Hero contest and I love this as a choice for this particular theme. Wonderful photo all around.

This is a really powerful photojournalistic moment you've captured.

what a lovely little place to sit!

What a stunning place. You've really captured the beauty of nature here.

That little shadow just made my day. Great capture of such a happy family moment. The post production color/filter choice was perfect and accentuates the warmth of the moment.

This is so gorgeous. I'm amazed by the color as well as how well the shallow DOF worked here. Really stunning!

I'm in love with this photo, Josh. The balance of colors - and the overall hue is just gorgeous. You took a fairly simple subject and created a masterpiece.

Stunning! The water drops almost look metallic against that shade of green with the blue reflection. This is now added to "my favorites" collection. Nice work.

When I look at this photo - I see COLOR. The colors are amazing, both in the creature and in the bokeh. Well done.

Absolutely stunning photography in every way. The lines and vignetting draw you right to the main subject. Beautiful.

I agree with Timo. This warmed my heart! A very interesting capture of a very everyday sort of moment. Really well done.

I'm in a different camp. There is something so striking about the saturation and the contrast here. I just saw it on the home page and had to click on it. It most definitely captured my attention. That color! I also like that the flowers are pointing to the right side of the image that is void of a foreground. It allows the flowers to breathe and shows the smallness of them.
The contrast, though I do love it because it gives a magical quality to the subject, is a tiny smidge dark right in the center of the flower. I wouldn't want that shadow to go away, but it is very black against the orange and perhaps could be decreased slightly.
Well done! I wish I had taken this photo myself. -
Yes - the photographer gets an automated email the day before.

You ask why the photographer hasn't engaged? Hmmm. Reading his image "sucks" and and then having one commenter "stick a finger up" at another? Why on earth would he?
Though I also--completely a personal opinion--am not often drawn to images with guns, I think this photo is thought-provoking and creative. The one thing I don't particularly love is the texture - only because it looks like it was a bit of a post-production afterthought. If it were toned down just a little, it would add to the grittiness of the subject.PS. The photograph was uploaded in April, so I'd say he's still "active," unless what you are asking for is for those that choose the photos to only choose photos by the people that comment in this forum?

What a creative, stunning, and uniquely creative maternity photo. It is very unexpected - with the black dress for example, but very different. Well done.

Simply beautiful. Etheral. Surreal. Dreamy.

What a lovely image I just stumbled upon! You've captured such a quiet moment in nature (or so it appears). Well done.

There is so much to this photo! The soft mountains in the background, the boats, and of course that charming lamp post. Is the sun hitting the light? At any rate, I think this is a wonderful image that is super clean, even with so much going on. I'd give anything to see that place in color, yet I think your black and white conversion works well.

This is incredible! You've created a mesmerizing piece of art here.

This is absolutely breathtaking. I'd love to be standing in that exact place right now.
