  1. I have both 70-300G and 70-300ED. The comments are quite right that 70-300ED has much better built and image quality. But, most of the time I use my 70-300G lens because of its lighweight. Regarding the sharpness, that can be easily overcome with image editing programs. I use my 70-300ED, when I only need to shoot some serious photographs that I wouldn't like to sacrifice any image quality. Otherwise, 70-300G is doing pretty good.
  2. According to Nikon Team, the use of DX lenses on film cameras is not recommended, because the coverage of DX lenses is les than 35mm. I realized that when I used mine on my Nikon F-100.

  3. Although I have been using lenses on my nikon and minolta systems which are engineered by these manufacturers, I would like to make a move to third party lenses as well. I have heard from people around, talking positively ( some negative as well ) about Tokina, Tamron, Sigma and some other manufacturers' lenses.

What I really would like to hear, are some comments from photographers who had really used such lenses.

There might be some sites where some photographers might have submitted their experiences about these lenses. For example, I have found some really interesting comments here at Photo.net. I am really bad at searching the web, probably I am using wrong keywords etc.

    Thanks

  4. Thanks for your responses. I understand that we shouldn't mix the old stuff with the new. So, SB-24, 25.. go on N8008S and SB80 DX goes on F-100. It's that simple. Thanks...That was very helpful. Now, I can sleep well, without thinking about what I might have done wrong with my N 8008S.
  5. I have decided to try this new Nikon Flash SB 80-DX on my old goody

Nikon N8008S camera. The manual for the flash describes that I should

make the flash adjustments (red eye, fill flash etc.) on the camera

body. I have tried to do that with a little button next to AE lock

button. But, nothing happens. Do I do something wrong ? Or, is there

something wrong with the camera? Anybody has experienced flash

photography with Nikon N8008S ? In fact, I have never used any flash

on this camera before. I will appreicate your any input here.

    Thanks,
