I was trying for a different view of Canary Wharf in London but I'm
not sure if I pulled it off.
17-35mm lens @ 15 mm and standing in the middle of the road.
Kinda looks like a tardis :-)

Please critique this shot - any help appreciated.

Does the back line balance ot upset it?

Yes, the green foliage makes it non-abstract IMO. If you had moved to the right to remove this the maybe......

I was trying to create a relationship between the horse and the
viewer rather than between you and the rider. As though he seems to
be just waiting for you to finish whatever business you have with the
horse. Does it work?

Shell with slight radial blur in PS6.

This was taken with a 50mm (=80mm on my D30) at F2. Handheld at
1/40th and ISO 400 due to lack of light. The focus doesn't quite
reach to her chin. Do you thonk that's a problem?

I've not done much still life so please give me any ideas on how to
improve this shot. The middling DOF was done on purpose as I did not
want the whole flower to be sharp and the softness lent itself to the
flower I think.

Got some extension tubes - quite amazing things!

This is a shot of my wife watching TV last night. It wasn't meant as
portrait shoot - she was just sitting in a chair and therefore the
backgound is messy. The real reason for this shot was to test a cheap
50mm F1.8 lens I got yesterday (I just had to play!) I know the DOF
is very shallow and would have liked to get her eyelashes rather than
her eyebrow in focus.
