1.
Matt and Matthew! Thanks very much for the answers and for your time helping me.
Matthew, I have an intervalometer similar to yours. Thanks for the great tip about Apple's Quicktime Pro! I know a little bit about taking pictures, but I know nothing about sw, post edit...
Matt, the video is beautiful and the making of will help me put ideas together. Your reply will help me start looking for these items online and also start asking the right questions in stores
I should start small, lightweight, with something closer to the $100 slider for this touristic trip. The rest I'll learn on the way
thanks!

 2.
Hi, I'm an amateur photographer, I have a Canon 60D and want to use it for personal video during my Caribbean trip.
I want to do some effects I've seen on some video shots (those nature videos that you usually see in stores that sell TVs). It's a sort of accessory that seems to be more than a tripod and it makes the camera automatically slowly move, let's say, from left to right. It can also move diagonally.
The effect on a long video is that you can see a landscape changing during the day (and I've even seen images that span seasons around the year) while the framing is not still because the camera is moving. But the image is not shaky.
Here are my questions:
1 - what type of accessory(ies) is(are) this(these)?
2 - Since I'm traveling and would use it for leisure, what are the options that would be light and easy to carry and not so expensive?
3 - I'm in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Do you know of any stores around here? Or in US Virgin Islands (I can also buy online, but would prefer not to)?
Thank you!

 3.
Hi all!

My Canon 60D broke in the middle of a trip to the Caribbean. I bought a new one in Miami and now need to decide what to do with the broken one. Can you help me?
I have to decide between fixing or selling the broken Canon. Since my camera is not in the warranty period anymore, do you think the best would be to
- 1st I should ship it to Canon facility in Virginia and let them look and give me a price to fix it?
- just forget this and advertise to sell it as a "need repair" / "broken" item? Advertise where? On EBay, Amazon, KEH? Can I sell here?
regards

 4.
Hi all!
Thank you very much for the prompt, detailed answers and the tips about sales tax and about KEH, which I had never heard about.
Best Buy didn't have the Body Only. So I reminded that I just bought a Kindle and added the Amazon Prime. Then I decided to buy the camera from Amazon with next day delivery for $3.99. That's amazing!
Now I have to decide between fixing or selling the broken Canon.
5.
Hi! I hope someone can help me. I'm a foreigner tourist traveling Miami for the next week.

I have a Canon with a 18-135mm lens. It's not working (It turns on but the buttons don't work, doesn't playback pics/movies...).

After trying to fix it over the phone with Canon we found out there's a problem with its Body and decided that I should mail it to their Repair Center in Virginia for them to fix it.

The ship to Canon/approve/repair/ship to USA address process will take sometime

Meanwhile I need another camera. I'm not looking for anything other than a new/used/refurbished 60D body only

What would you recommend?

Should I buy a new one or a used or refurbished would do it (while mine gets repaired in their Repair Center)?

Anyone know where I can buy a used/refurbished one in Miami today so I can start shooting right away?

Or it's hard to find a place here and the best would be to buy it online and have it shipped to my address here?

thanks and regards
