Using a 7d canon with some filters. I am trying to use star filters but not getting very good results. Would it be better to take off other filters including sky filter.
Many thanks

Hi
I have a canon d7 with standard lens and want to take some photos indoors with subdued lighting at xmas of my parakeet by the xmas tree without using flash. As he is quite active I will need a relatively fast shutter speed, say about 250 and would like to know what other settings I should use.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Best wishes to all for the holiday season.

Hi
Is it possible to convert my 7d to wi fi and am I also able to add automatically details about where the photo is taken. I cant remember what that function might be called but it is on my mobile phone and tells me where in the country I took the photo.

Hi
Where can I download a free user manual for the eos 7d camera and how exactly do I charge the battery. I have noticed that the charger flashes at different speeds ( not sure what this means ) and then eventually goes green, and when I eventually reinstrall the battery it shows 100% charge but recharge performance only shows 2 green lights and not 3. How much longer can I expect the battery to last. This is only the second charge I have given it in 18 months.
Any info would be very much appreciated

Hi Jamie
Mr firmware version is 2.0.3. Is there anyway I can connect the camera to my computer and download the firmware directly to the camera.
Regards
Ian

P.S. Do you ever download updates for your computer?
Thanks Jamie, but how do you do it (download to computer) and get it on to the camera.
Thanks

I have a 7d and avoid all firmware upgrades as I can not see they are necessary and very probably a retrograde step. If the camera is good it should not need upgrades and I wonder why Canon issue them. Avoid at all costs unless you really know what you are doing

That's the one.

Pixel RC-201/N3 Shutter Release Cable for Canon 5D mk3,5D This is the make and model. Sorry no pic, keith

Thanks for your responses, but it is a lead type shutter release I have and am still not sure how to use it.

Is there a manual for this device anywhere as I am not sure how to use it. My camera is a canon d7. I know where to plug the lead in but have no detailed instructions. Any help appreciated.

Sorry to get back on this subject. My sunpack thyristor auto zoom 3600 puts out 197 volts so the camera needs to have a trigger value of at least that. My canon d7 can take flash up to a voltage not above 250,so I am informed by Canon. Are they correct and is it safe to use the flash unit with my Canon 7d providing I use pc connector on the flash unit.

Beware! I bought a battery on ebay [not canon] and although it worked on the camera would not charge on the canon charger, so slung it in the bin as could not be bothered to send it back. Beware of replica batteries

My canon d7 can take flash up to a voltage not above 250, but I can't find a figure for my hasselblad fa 202 camera. It would be useful to know the maximum trigger value for the camera.

Does anyone know the trigger value for flash through pc sync connection for Hasselblad 202fa camera.
Many thanks

Hi Joe
My question was not about the canon d7 or nikon d3100 but about the flash unit. Anyway I thought I had posted it underfash unit section. Sorry foy any error on my part

-

Because the flash unit will be mounted on its own bracket [not the hot shoe] and connected to the camera via a sync cable does this make a difference.
Thanks for all resonses so far

I do not understand the responses so far. Could someone explain in simple terms if it is safe to use with my camera or altrnatively with a Nikon digital camera, D3100

Is it possible to use my sunpak auto thyrisor 3600 flash with my canon d7 digital camera or could the flash unit damage the camera.
Thanks for any help

Hi
What is the difference between the two formats (JPEG and RAW) and does one take up more space on the camera. I have a canon d7 and not sure which format to use or how to select either. Any help would be geatefully apppreciated.

Thanks Scott
But the lens take a 93mm drop in filter, but there is a screw thread at the end of the lens to which I can attach the lens hood but do not know what size it is. Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks
