I fear it does not work for me. I have some stubborn ideas about what a photograph is and what an illustration is.

I love the idea behind the photo but think it is too busy. The table is nice and exotic but I think it detracts the flow of a person's glance from one element to the other. The same with the doors and what is that heating pipes in the center? Also the shadow of the standing woman is okay but there are some other stray shadows that detract like to the left of her.

Looks fake to these tired old eyes. Like a $3 bill with Nixon on the front.

I would not crop it at all. I do not mind giving my eyeballs a little extra work to rove over the elements of the photo as opposed to having slick art school comosition shoved down my throat. He has captured a tiny slice of life somewhere -- I don't know where -- that would not be much different than my childhood on the Plains of the Midwest 65 years ago. Of course we didn't have trees like the one in the photo which adds another dimension, as far as my tired eyes are concerned.

This classic British sports car is the car I could nver afford when I was a nipper. It is awsome. Fun photo with the old couple, too.
