  1. Your images are underexposed. I would try and perfect yout technique before I went out again. I know this criticism is harsh, but you have chosen an industry that takes no prisoners. It's a tough way to make a living but can be very rewarding if you do it right.

As far as how you handle the client; I would do what you can to make her happy. Sometimes that means eating a little, or alot. In the end she will be happy and remember how professioanlly you handled her situation, and quite possibly reccommend you to others, since your photos will make her happy....again.

  2. I have run into similar situations. As long as the clergy person is willing to set up images afterward it is usually not a problem.

Once time I had a priest tell me of similar rules. I asked him if he would set up afterward. He whole heartily agreed. When the time came he was no where to be found. I went around to the rectory and knocked. He answered while he was putting on his regular coat (and sans collar) to go out. I nicely reminded him that I kept my part of the deal and now it was time he did the same. He stared and told me he would be right there.

    Holier than thou?

  3. Well said Joe. I must say; weddings are not for everyone. It takes a big man/woman to admit they are over thier head. Its a tough job where one must combine equal parts of technical skills, artistic skills and people skills. The combined percentages must add up to 200%....or more! Meaning you must know when to up the ante on either. Equipment failure? You've never shook in your pants until one happens to you. The things nightmares are made of. People failures? a bit easier to deal with, but a bear non-the=less.

Good luck in you future photo adventures.

  4. Bob, I wasn't insulting and if you took it as an insult well, thats you.

What I was saying is for the PRICE you should get cart blanche service. Thats it. No optical testing, no fight. Its just a damn piece of equipment for crying out loud. Leica SHOULD replace it. Mind you I also think Canon should have replaced the 1DII as well, but that will never happen. Feel free to mosey over to the Canon forum and argue that too.

My Nikon had some hot spots only noticed about 11 days after purchase. I called the store and was told "Sorry, we can't replace ( 4 days betond 7 day policy), but send it blah blah blah.."

  5. "If you would have a Canon or Nikon you would have spoke to an order taker, who will have authorized you to ship in your broken camera at your own expense to the service center in your home country. Then you would have to buy a new camera to use for the duration of your trip. I speak from experience!"

    Leica M8 $4750

    Nikon D80 $779

Not quite a fair comparison is it?
