Thank you for your contribution Greg,
Having had no further luck in finding this menu item, I contacted Leica Support who told me that the Leica felt that the item was unnecessary on the menu, to provide more processing capacity. Unfortunately the instruction manuals and CD's were already set up so the item was included in the instructions.

I have recently bought a Leica D Lux (Typ 109) Compact Camera, and am very pleased with the results. On reading the instruction CD on page 33 of the PDF there is a section on "Setting the menu screen background"; following the procedure in the Set up menu I cannot find the Menu Background item displayed, is this due to the settings on my camera. Could anyone offer advice on this subject?

I have had a D300s for approx. 3 years and for a short time have not used it. On recharging the battery and putting it in the camera for use I find that the on/off switch and display are not registering, has anyone else had this problem or could suggest what is causing this to occur?

Does anyone else have the same problem? When using the Develop module I find it difficult to fine tune slider settings on my laptop due to the size of the sliders on the screen, is there any keyboard shortcut or a way of enlarging the sliders on the screen?

I have recently acquired a Leica D-Lux 6, could anyone recommend a compatible small/medium sized external flash unit, preferably with bounce capability?

The Nissin I-40 is a compact and affordable alternative to the SB-700. It has good output, which is adjustable, full swivel and tilt capacity and feels just as comfortable on my P7700 as it does on my D300s. With a coverage of 24-105mm on a DX it is very versatile.
