I use the Luma Labs Cinch http://luma-labs.com/ It's an over the shoulder style and is extremely easy to adjust.

I had the same problem with Lightroom 4. I now have Lightroom 5 and hadn't realized, until you brought it up, that I couldn't remember having the same problem with it. I just ran a few images through different outside editors and then made some adjustments in Lightroom afterwards. The tifs all edited quickly with no blinking once they were back in Lightroom. If it was a RAM issue, then Adobe has tweeked how they work with it because I am still using the same computer for 5 that I was for 4.

Who cares what they call it? Most consumers who buy it will know that they meant, " it has the same quality and functions as the current Nikon/Canon interchangeable lens camera that your neighbor has." The only people who care what DSLR "truly means" are on here and other photography forums. Just get out, shoot, and stop worrying about semantics or if your camera is better than that guy over there. If it works for you, and you get the shots you want, GREAT! If not then find a camera that does and go out and shoot. Who cares what the guy next door uses if you have something that works for you and allows you to get the shots you want?

Here is Instagram's response to this. Link

If you read through the forums here you'll see people do exactly what you're talking about quite often. It could be that they get the lens/camera body/whatever, and it's not what they thought it'd be from the description, they don't like the image quality from it, they don't like the size/weight, or various other reasons. It seems that Amazon's policy is written with these cases in mind. As an online retailer they seem to understand that things like this will happen because the buyer isn't able to test out whatever they're buying before they get it. I've returned a few things to them for various reasons, whether on day 1 or day 30, and only ever had them deduct the shipping cost. It's one of the reasons I do most of my sopping with them. I know that if I'm not happy for whatever reason, I can return the item (As long as it's an item actually sold by Amazon and not one of the third policy sellers).

I have the Fuji x-pro 1 and have no problem using Lightroom with the raw files. I think it just took them a little extra time to get it working. Here's the list of compatible cameras from Adobe that shows the X-Pro 1. http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.html I assume that means there won't be an issue with the X-E1.
