One other note - the D7100 uses the same 51-point AF system found on the D700 and higher (D800/E, D3S, D3X, D4) while the D600 shares the D7000's 39-point AF system.

Sharpness is going to be more an issue of the lens and the photographer, than the camera body.

Your convoluted link is very confusing and misleading - the part that is an actual link (the http://) goes to another site. As far as the chitrastudio, I find the slideshow on the initial page distracting, so I didn't bother look at the rest of the site.

I've never seen this. Have you tried a reset (green buttons) of the camera?

The auto setting generally tries about 1/60 second at a middle aperture, and goes from there. The light metering mode you're using wioll also affect the settings. If you're having trouble with movement, try using shutter priority ("S" or "Tv") so you have some control.

If your budget allows it, don't overlook one of entry-level DSLRs. You can easily just keep it in the "Auto" (point & shoot) mode. The sensors are larger than the compact P&S cameras, the shutter reaction time is typically faster, even the kit lens optics are good, and I believe they all come with video capability.

I'm just guessing, but is the file extension designated to open with the viewer? Have you tried the "Open With" option.
It's been a couple of years since I've dug around in Windows.

This looks like an out of focus background from a shallow depth of field. It can be simulated with a blur in PS. The little round spots are due to the shape of the lens' aperture or iris. I'm not sure if that can be adequately produced in PS.

Manfrotto has a low-angle adapter which replaces the center column. http://www.manfrotto.us/low-angle-adapter-for-055d-cl. This one is for the 055 series of legs - they may have others.

How long has it been since you formatted the card?
Try to copy the files on the card to a temporary folder using Finder. If this works, then import the photos from the temporary folder into LR3.

Hmmm . . . possibly a Windows thing? I just ran a test on my Mac and the file after the last selected & deleted is what is highlighted - not the first in the list.

Simple: Once you go with Nikon, nothing else really matters. ;)
This site will allow you to compare specs between cameras. The major photography magazines and web sites have reviews on the latest equipment, but I would read multiple reviews on any product - don't trust just one source.

^This. There are many high quality lenses available and most will also work on Nikon DSLRs, should you decide to go that route, as well.

Thank you.

Hello all,
I am new to photo.net, but have been an amateur photographer, on and off, since high school in the mid-1970s. I've been serious about photography for a few years now. I live in Maryland with my wonderful wife and youngest son, whom is also a photographer. I have one other son whom lives elsewhere but visits weekly.
