    Consider more exposure. This photo is quite underexposed. Much of the time, photographers disregard their cameras histograms and go with what looks right on their monitors. There is little to no detail at the top of this photo. Try opening your camera's aperture, increasing ISO, dragging your camera's shutter (keep the shutter open longer), for a properly exposed image.

    The composition is there (in your image), but black and white images (according to many professional photographers) live or die based on their contrast; and high contrast is king. There is little contrast here; consider cranking it up, way up.

    When HDR is done correctly it doesn't look like it was done. There are glowing edges here (trees touching sky, left side, and at the horizon) that are negative hallmarks or unintentional artifacts of HDR.

    Nice shot, but when doing HDR remember that the reflection in the water should somewhat match the sky. The sky is dark and the water is quite light, this doesn't look natural. The best HDR images don't look like HDR. The same is true with fill flash photos.
