When I was at Bisti 20+ yrs ago it was midday sun and mud colored. This is a wonderful B&W image. Thanks for sharing.

My intent was to emphasize the weathered appearance and similarity between the subject and background. No it is not HDR. Actually it is a scanned film negative. I like it but am not very objective about the subject. Thanks for a helpful criticism.

Love the light on the crosses and the clouds accentuating the tree branches.

This composition is very effective and evocative. Excellent work. 

Have you considered trying this scene in more somber light? A series of photos?

The composition really works for me. Very satisfying. The lighter area behind the upright plant is perfect for drawing my eye to what I think is the central feature.Very nicely done.
