1.
Great shots again this Wednesday. Haven't had the camera out much, so from the archives is one of a tribute our small town paid to our first slain police officer. Officer Mike Walter and two fellow officers were serving a warrant when the suspect opened fire killing Walter. One other officer also was shot, but not fatally.

00acyu-483085584.JPG.e4f6e338d5572fde13e76fdbe6bc0bc1.JPG

 2.
Happy Wednesday. (My favorite day of the week for photography) Great butterfly shot, Bill! Our small town had a tragedy last week as one of our police officers was killed in the line of duty while serving an arrest warrant. As his funeral procession was passing in front of the police station, this little fellow expressed his gratitude with his own brand of salute. Rest in peace, Detective Mike Walter.

00aMwD-465047584.JPG.eca304347fcc7e8836255c261664f8c0.JPG

 3.
You may want to talk to a representative from your local camera store and inquire about whether or they can loan or rent you a couple of lenses. If so, it might help you make up your mind on which one you prefer without purchasing more than one. I also have a 5100 and have not made the leap to micro just yet, although I did manage to capture the following using the 55-200 kit lens. Surprisingly, I did not have my tripod. It was a "lucky hand-held" capture!

00aKsy-462449684.jpg.c5e988d497ca86afc13e004c040bcb0b.jpg
