1. This year, probably by July, we are moving to another house.

With this move I've an opportunity to get a new desk to work on as I can start over. Currently my desk is a 42" hollow-core door over two, 2-drawer, file cabinets.

The dual monitors, scanners and an Epson printer fit, albeit tightly but anyone could want more real-estate.

Looking for suggestions, what do you use? and how did you “engineer” it?

  2.
I bought a Hood Loupe 3.0 to use with a Nikon D7000 but I think it's a so-so product.
I'm trying to use it shooting still videos with the D7000 but it's hard to make the thing stay in place, the "strap" doesn't work all that well.
Also purchased the 3x magnifying eyecup for the HoodLoupe 3.0. Did I goof? If the loupe has a 3.0 x lens and I add the eyecup also with a 3.0x lens will this work at all?

  3.
Well both POV (Point of View) and FOV (Field of View) are important to me when capturing an event record.
A by-stander's POV & FOV record is from ground level and at a distance from the subject - horse, driver and carriage, I can do that with a digital still camera even to making short "clips' of the action. However I cannot sit in the carriage and record the FOV or POV of the driver during a training session or during an event and in many ways that POV/FOV is the most instructive - where are the reins, what is the position of the horse and carriage during the various parts of the events.
But ... some of the helmet cameras are surely more competent than others? The video is better? The "usability" of the camera is better? And there's the matter of the "look" of the hardware. The "lipstick" configuration of some of the cameras is definitely less conspicuous than the deck-of-cards box when they are mounted on the rider's helmet.

  4.
Here's the situation - wife has horses and carriage, horses (and wife) compete in Combined Driving Events, wife wants to do better (at Combined Driving Events). Hubby (me) thinks "maybe she would benefit by having and using a Helmet Camera. So ...
Is a Helmut Camera worth having? How are the optics? How's the practically of these things? Are they bulletprof or fragile? An inquring mind wants to know - before I blow 3-400 $ on one.
Thanks!
