  1. I have a 50 (77mm filter) and a 150 (67mm filter) and found, if I remember correctly that I can't get them side to side in the F4AF inserts -- though I might be able to stack them or just pull out that insert and keep in wraps/pouches loose in the bottom of the bag. Do you ever carry your Hasselblad lens down in the bag or always flat, lens forward? The smaller sized bag (or J-2) is certainly appealing...
  2. Thank you so much for all the suggestions (Lowepro, f64, Op-Tech etc.) Anyone out there use the Domke J-2 or J-1 for medium format that can tell me how it works for them? (It's true that the inserts are a bit small for MF lenses; but the other excellent bags mentioned are also large and heavy...) I also just noticed the Lowepro Compact Magnum AW but can't find a store in LA that carries it so I can check it out.
  3. I am looking for a shoulder bag to carry a newly purchased Bronica

SQ-A w/80 mounted (sometimes with prism and speed grip, sometimes

just WLF), plus 50, 150, 1 extra back (sometimes), gossen meter,

hoods, and (rarely) 18mm extension tube. I shoot primarily

urban/industrial landscape photography which requires a decent bit

of walking (with tripod), but no true hiking (drive up then walk

around). I realize that this will be a heavy load for a shoulder

bag but I do not want a backpack. I will often shoot with a lighter

load, but want a bag that CAN handle all this if/when necessary (I

    already have a Domke F-3X).

After much research and trying bags in stores I have narrowed the

choice down to Domke J-2/J-1 and Lowepro Magnum AW Medium Format. I

am fully aware that these are very different bags that depend

largely on personal style. But here are my specific

    questions/concerns:

    1. The Lowepro is a beautifully designed bag that is clearly large

enough for my needs (maybe too large). But it is also the heaviest

at almost 6 lbs. Is it silly to add an extra 2 lbs. of just empty

bag weight to my load? Does anyone use this bag to actually walk

around and shoot with rather than just travel with? Do you notice

that extra weight? Is it awkward/hard on the hip when full?

    2. I am leaning toward the Domkes but am worried that they are not

deep/wide enough to hold my camera flat, lens facing out (away from

my body). How do people with 6x6 SLRs configure their Domke J bags?

    3. Is the J-2 (which I would prefer) large enough to handle the gear

I mentioned (especially with prism and grip attached) without it

    being overstuffed or overstacked?

    4. Will the J-1, which is much taller than I need, but nice and

long/wide, be unwieldy to carry when full of the equipment I

described (i.e. a duffel back full of camera equipment)?

    5. Does anyone use the Domke J bags without the full insert, but

just dividers in the bottom of the bag?

I am especially interested in how people set-up their Domke J bags

for 6x6 SLRS. The prism and grip seem to be the main obstacles...

Any specific feedback from users would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  4. I totally messed up:

Shooting portraits in moderately contrasty light with my Mamiya

c330F, I forgot to change the ASA on my hand-held meter and wound up

shooting FP4+ at 400 by mistake.

How should I correct this mistake with minimal image degradation?

Should I push the film 2 stops when I develop it?

Should I push it only 1 stop and then compensate for the

underexposure with exposure times in the darkroom?

Do I have less to worry about because it is MF film?

Any advice on my next step would be very very much appreciated.

    Thanks all,

    Gary

  5. Help: I recently bought a user Rolleicord V that worked fine for a

week. Because the cable release attachment was missing I used the V

setting self-timer while shooting on my tripod. It seems to have

jammed. Oddly the camera/shutter works fine when the lever is

switched to M but when in the normal X position the shutter wont cock

(no tension) or fire (it clicks but shutter doesn't open)and now wont

    switch to V at all.

Is this a common problem? I'm sure I did something wrong: how do I

avoid this in the future? Do I need a full shutter overhaul/CLA? Or

is this something one of the Rollei repair people I've read about

here can fix more easily/less expensively? The camera only cost

$150, is pretty beat up but lenses are perfect and has taken a few

good rolls already - now I'm disappointed and stuck.

Any dangers of just shooting on M?

Thank you for any advice. This is an amazing forum that has taught

me so much. My first post for help.

    Gary
