Very nice. It feels very balanced. If you were going to photoshop one thing it would be the white blotch in the doorway.
-
Bit underexposed but wonderful subject choice.
-
Awesome picture. I think just a little too much is out of focus though.
-
Love the shades, lotta character here, yet not too heavy :)
-
Great lines, maybe a touch too high key.
-
Taken at the Audobon Zoo in Louisiana.

I've been playing with levels and curves on my scans from my new
Minolta Dimage III. Do you think this is too grey? I have a hard
time getting the detail I want in the highlights and shadows without
my images becoming a grey blob.

Discovered I had plenty of dust bunnies taking this picture. To me
if is quiet yet with some uncertainty.

Great Shot!! The round shape of the bucket really sets it off and makes it interesting.

Not understanding what I am looking at here.
*edit* Now i see it and don't see how I ever missed it :P Course now that I have a cat (had him for 2 weeks now) I can come to recognize all the angles of a cat...
Great shot.

You can look in my portfolio for the original (posted for critique a
few months ago). What do you think of this picture, how can it be
improved, and how does it compare to the original?
Thanks,
Brian

This is cropped to be a standard 4x6 size. Better?
-
How does this crop work? Heavily photoshopped; see my portfolio for
another version.

This is me. I set up the shot then had a friend take it. What do
you think about the dark face?

Please Rate AND Critique.

I am very amused by the number of comments regardin the elve's stated reasons for liking the shot. I thought we were supposed to talk about the photo? In my opinion you cannot critique a photojournalism shot with the same criteria as you critique a portrait. They are two different animals with two different objectives. I like this picture a lot, as is.
-
Should I use the crop tool in Photoshop to correct the perspective in
this shot, or leave it as is? What do you think about the red sky?
Should I darken it a little?
-
Improvements?
Thanks for taking the time to help.

Is the background to green? General suggestions for improvement?
She kind of looks like McGillis IMO in this picture.

Anyone have thoughts on how to better expose this picture. Taken in
Program mode (I think) on my Rebel 2000, using matrix metering.
-
I love your use of a shallow depth of field on this shot. How fast is your lens? It looks like you shot this shot with your zoom at the long end, which would make the background blur a lot like this, or your lens is very fast (2.8 or faster). A very pleasing effect.

How could the framing of this picture be chaned to improve the
balance?
Le-Le Memphis' new Giant Panda
in Nature
Posted
Recently Memphis acquired two Giant Pandas from China. I am sure
they are now Memphis' most photographed couple but I felt I wanted to
take a shot at it too. As we first arrived Lele (the male) was
sleeping. Does this shot feel peaceful, cuddly, and tranquil? Or
does lele just look like a panda-skin rug? I am looking mainly for
compositional advice. The image is only slightly cropped at this
point.
