Gatineau Park is very nice.
Also, you can drive north and east of Gatineau into the hills of the western Laurentians which may have less people and car traffic than the park itself. Roads are good, even the gravel ones (maybe even better).
As an alternate you can drive an hour south by south-west and head into the Ridean Lakes area. Stay off the beaten track and drive on the gravel and cottage roads. They twist and go up and down and you occasionally get nice panoramas of rock and trees.

Just curious about shipping FedEx (or other). I believe someone sugested shipping film to the destination to avoid the high intensity X-raying of checked luggage. Don't they scrutinize the FedEx parcels the same way? Made me wonder what security is like generally with parcel carrier airlines.

You already have a few good places to see in Ontario. South-east of Algonquin Park is the area arond Bancroft. Lesser known but equally beautiful.
As for Quebec, areas with plenty of accomodations and scenery are the Eastern townships, about 1.5 hours east of Montreal north of the US border. Hilly and usually good for foliage. If you have the time, the Charlevoix area of Quebec, about 1.5 hour east of Quebec City, along the St. Lawrence north shore is rugged and beautiful and relatively inexpensive to sleep and eat. There are a couple of provincial parks, Grands Jardins & Haute Gorges with plenty of hiking trails and hilltop climbs.
