Even though I use Canon, I recently did a review comparing wide angle lenses. The Tamron 17-35 is excellent and inexpensive. I compare it to a Canon L lens. Take a look.

Tamron Review and Comparison

Robin... yes... this is the downside to the Samyang... HORRIBLE distortion. I would have loved to purchase this lens.. for landscapes one may be able to get away with it... but certainly not for architecture.

Hi everyone! I just got my Canon 5D III last week and I had the opportunity to take some pictures and give a little review of what I have found so far! I have to say… compared to the Canon 5D II I am very impressed with the camera so far. The AF is unbelievable and far exceeds the MK II and MK I! The Canon 5D III is super accurate, fast and will focus in the dark – literally…. The AF is definitely on level and may even exceed the 1D series.

I have some images that were shot at ISO 102,000 and 51,000, but I haven’t had a chance to process them yet. I wanted to put something up for others to see, so I was able to upload images from ISO 12,800 to begin with and ISO 6,400 to follow. I will be adding more images and expanding my hands on review in the coming days.

Click on link to view;

http://johncarnessali.com/lens-tests/3201

Here are a few...

Ken... I agree, the ISO shots of the 5D III are really impressive!

I am not looking for people to pick between my images.. sorry for the confusion! I am wanting people to post their pictures of shots taken on the 5DIII at higher ISO's.

I know Mark! I started with film, so I am amazed at how far we have come! I love the quality of the noise from the MK III as well. I have always loved the 5D series, but this version is at a new level.

I would still love to see other's high ISO picks!

My vote would be the Tamron 17-35mm 2.8-4.0. I understand it is +3 millimeters more than you want... but it is an EXCELLENT lens. I have written a short review comparing it to the Canon 16-35mm 2.8 MK II along with some image comparisons.

http://johncarnessali.com/lens-tests/2995
