<p>I agree with JDM -- when a current model used 50 cron is offered at KEH for $2799 -- 40% above the new price -- it's about users.<br>
The only new Leicas I've seen in stock in the past few months are the 28mm Elmarit and the Summarits, so if a user wants a 35 cron they have to suck it up on the used market.<br>
My observation is that it's less about the m4/3 and NEX crowd and more about the new (or newly digital) Leica users -- whether attacted to the M9 or the now sub-$2500 M8. Economic recovery and sagging dollar are also problems, but secondary.<br>
Watch the prices while the inventories of Canon L glass deplete...</p>

<p>there's an internal battery? HA! I never thought about it. Bought it in 1985, dragged it out a few months ago, having not used it since 2002, and had no problems.<br>
Actually, it's a much better camera than it was when it was first released -- the "sensor" (i.e., film) is better now. Congrats on getting a great camera!</p>
