NIKON F5, HOW CAN, ALWAYS PRESSING THE SHUTTER RELEASE & IT ACTIVATE ONLY WHEN THE

SUBJECT BE IN FOCUS AREA AT MANUAL MODE, WITH AFD & AFS LENSES ?

HI, EVERYBODY,

I HAVE A NIKKOR AFS 80-200. FRESHLY IT CAN'T FOCUS FROM 1.5M TO 6M, EITHER

MANUALL OR AUTOFOCUS. IT CAN FOCUS FROM 6M TO INFINITY & WHEN GOES TO 6M (FROM

INFINITY) IT MAKES A NOISE. THERE IS ANY WHO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS

LENS ?

Dear Gary,

I have the Gitzo 1548 with Arca Swiss B1 and I use with my long set-up (F5+AFS 80-200+TC-20E) the Bogen "Long lens camera support 359"

with RRS clamp on the top of the small ball head that attach on L RRS plate of F5. In my experience and tests (With laser ray) it works well. Beware for the following :

1. To protect the house assembly of the camera body lock the locking

nuts with this array (First put and tighten-carefully,

not overtighten- the super clamp at the tripod leg) :

The small ballhead (Or the RRS clamp if you put one-I

strongly suggest you it) at the camera end, the nut

at the other end near to super clamp, the nut in

middle of extension, and finall the knob that

adjust the angle of the small ballhead.

2. For good results (Solid lock of the camera body) :

Perfect alignment of 359 in vertical axis.
