Theme: Lust
Lust is a passionate or overwhelming desire. People lust for power, money, objects. You can have a lust for life or an intense and eager enthusiasm. And of course, there is sexual lust.
As an artist, what do you lust for? What moves you to create? What does lust look like?
A powerful image goes beyond the aesthetics of the subject matter and creates an emotional response in the viewer. A strong and consistent emotional narrative in a body of work binds the imagery together in a deeper way than content alone.
This theme gives you the opportunity to elicit a powerful feeling in the viewer.

Show me lust. Make me feel a passionate and overwhelming desire for something, anything. Make me care about what you have to say and how you say it.

Submission deadline: Monday, January 16 by midnight, EST

All details at http://jenniferschwartzgallery.com/rightnow

Is the Metz 32 CT 3 as easy to use as the d40 ?

I am debating between the Nikon D700 and the Canon 5D Mark II.
I would be using it for some low light, but not dark.
I will only be printing up to 16x20
I prefer primes over zooms.

I've read a ton of threads about both cameras and still can't decide.
Any thoughts on this?

The magazine is really hard to read online and even worse is the User Showcase. Every interview has at least one typo and they have used the same quote for two different photographers.

Ron Kimball says "Whenever I have a big assignment, such as photographing a $13 million Ferrari, I have to trust my equipment and not be distracted from the subject and the shoot. With the H3D-39, I have a digital workflow that is reliable, flexible, seamless, and successful."

Then Marco Grob says "Whenever I have a big assignment, such as photographing a $13 million Ferrari, I have to trust my equipment and not be distracted from the subject and the shoot. With the H3Dll-39, I have a digital workflow that is reliable, flexible, seamless, and successful.

Really bad editing and just poor writing.

Thanks to everyone for the entertainment. Who should I tip?

Twenty hours and the battery is still blinking the "trickle charge".

I bought this camera about 3 weeks ago and have a couple of questions.

First, what are the recommended temperatures to use the camera in, such as 30 degrees Fahrenheit to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Second, how long does it take to charge the rechargeable batteries? I have the 1850 battery and it has now been charging for 14 hours.

Never ever put film in the checked baggage.
Always carry it on the plane.

we are excited because it is a brand new FILM camera.
we are excited because someone made a new FILM camera in the digital age.
-
I keep hearing a price of $1195.
I've emailed Voigtlander in Germany to see if they can tell me.
-
There is a new medium format FILM camera.
In Japan, it will be known as the Fujifilm GF670.
Outside of Japan, it will be known as the Voigtlander Bessa III 667.
Apparently will be either 6x6 or 6x7 by changing a curtain.
A true dual format camera.
It will be available worldwide in the Spring of 2009.
Very cool.
