Found no category it would fit into, so as it is from A ROV operation deep
down I posted in underwater..
It is taken with a modified 10.5mm DX fisheye on a D3s. Just removed the
sun shade. There are pictures of the job at my website under "Photo tips"

Thanks a lot for your comments!
Nice to see people regard it as "classic". Maybe this is the kind of image that will replace/join the paintings of sailing ships??
These images are pretty hard to get. A lot of luck is needed. You need to be at the location, you need the bad weather. But then, the hardest is to get an opportunity when the visibility is good enough. Most of the time there will be very low visibility due to rain, snow, or just seaspray.
I wish I get more of those days

I was on a FPSO (floating production and storage) vessel. I was lucky. This is a new design of supply vessel, and this one was on standby for offloading to us in a hurricane. The wind was more than 60 knots when the image was taken. A bit shaky at our vessel too..

Thanks a lot for your comment! I will post more, I just have to register first. I wanted to try out this site, and I'm quite happy so far

The schrimp is around 1" (2.5cm) long. Sitting at an anemone it seems, but actually it was dancing around continously. Pretty hard to get focused.

I don't know what equipment you have available, so it is hard to give advice. If you use slr with strobes on arms I would have placed them a little more to the right and higher up to get some light on top and front of the head and get a better outline of the head.
Personally I would have tried to get an angle more from the front of the head too. The composition is also very tight, too tight imo, and I don't see the reason for it.
If you shoot with a compact you are very limited on objects like this. For underwater they are best for macro.
Your choice of b&w? Hard to say anything as I don't know if there were any disturbing colors in the background.

Any comment or critique appreciated. Note that what might look like noise
is actually particles in the water.
