This is a pedestrian bridge over the Fox River near downtown Geneva, IL. There are train tracks that run on the top of this bridge. I cropped 1x1 in LR, made it B&W with grain, then in PS added some HDR toning. I'm fairly pleased with out it turned out. The parts where the sun was shining washed out the details of the bridge which I found undesirable, but not ruinous.

Like many before me, I really thought that swing shot is cool.

  2.
While I was in Savannah 2 weeks ago, I made a concerted effort to find pictures with lighting that would work well towards good HDR shots. I think this park worked out nicely such that the shade from the trees doesn't completely wash out the detail of the trunks and that the light from the clear day doesn't blow out the image. I'm still learning!

    Taken with my T1i at 28mm f/4.

  3.
I missed last week as I was en route to Savannah with my fiancée. On our way back, we stopped at Ruby Falls (their propaganda of at least 2 signs every mile seemed to work). It was my first time entering a cave and Ruby Falls is the tallest underground waterfall known to man at this time. I shot it with my Rebel T1i and my nifty fifty (f/1.8). There was only a little light here shown for effect.
4.
I've just started posting the last few weeks. I like seeing all the work you guys are doing. I've only been shooting for about 5 months now...mostly high school basketball for my buddy that's a sportswriter. I haven't gone to any games in the last week, but I did play with bracketing exposures and merging them in post. Here is a shot from my parking lot. Shot with a Rebel T1i with the std. kit lens.
